I was thinking of asking this question and then a post in the check in thread helped me to decide to ask it...
Have you ever had therapy twice a week and did it help? If so, how did it help and was it worth it, re the cost etc... (I just read someone’s post who said the pdoc wants to see them tomorrow. I don’t really feel I needed the twice a week therapy... not with “him” anyway. __________________ |

I needed therapy twice a week with my therapist for about eight months when I was deeply depressed and having difficulty with daily functioning. I found it incredibly helpful and we were able to make a lot of progress in that time. It also helped motivate me to keep up with personal hygeine, because I had to come in twice a week and be presentable.
I've never seen my pdoc twice in the same week, though. I wouldn't see the point because I don't think any med changes would take effect that quickly anyway. __________________ "I would rather have questions that can't be answered than answers which can't be questioned." --Richard Feynman |

I think I had therapy twice in one week, but that only happened once in my 5 years of therapy. I had seen my therapist on a Monday for a regular appt and was fine, but then I didn't sleep that night because I wasn't tired. Then on Wednesday, I told her that I called my pdoc the day before about my sleep issues and that my pdoc's assistant said to take Benadryl, but I did not want to sleep excessively and miss my meetings if the Benadryl made me too tired. My pdoc prescribed nothing, even though I needed klonopin. So then I told my therapist that I need some coping mechanisms for sleeping, but she wanted to see me in person on Thursday, and I think she was irritated with my pdoc's assistant and reported her.
Never had a pdoc appt twice in one week. I have had pdoc appts 1 week apart, but never in the same week. |

I have only been going twice a week therapy since February. It's been really helpful was going to stop when in lockdown as well I have nothing to talk about but it's been good to air things. I pay for essentially 1 session full price as I was only paying under full price as I'm unemployed. I get the other free if you like.

I have been going twice a week for years and pdoc appointments every 1 to 2 weeks but end up calling him usually if they are two weeks apart. This wee i set a personal record and saw my T 4 times with a lot of texts as well. It has been a rough week. I like twice a week because how volatile my mood is I need it.

I’ve only needed therapy twice in a week once and it was my psychologists suggestion. I was in a particularly dangerous situation within myself and we were avoiding inpatient.

Yeah, I do not think I needed twice a week therapy. I was not a danger to myself or others, at all. It was the psychologist's suggestion. It was twice a week for maybe a year although my memory of that time is appalling so it could have been for less time than that (and ''frankly'' that time (although horrible) was less scary and bad than right now which is partly why i keep talking about it ) (since I can't seem to ''stay in the moment'' where I am actually safe... right now.

I might have to talk to someone about how much stuff is triggering me lately... it is triggering stuff (I am not being ''over sensitive'') and I have to keep quiet about it and always be a nice, polite, quiet, peaceful bear
(not about the current ''situation'' in the world although that is a trigger to me ) (not about anyone on pc) __________________ |

I currently have therapy 3x a week, though only for 30 minutes at a time. I find it really helpful for my impulsive behavior. It also doesn't end up costing significantly more because my therapist is willing to only charge me for an hour and half of therapy for one week. I mean, to some, it might be a little excessive, but I find that for me, it works.

I see my therapist twice per week and my pdoc once per week. I don't have to pay them.

I think therapy twice a week would help me now. But NOT with “him”
In fact some would say I need therapy twice a week? Who cares what some would say who never got me, including “him” “you are only as sick as your secrets” I’m sure there is a lot of Truth in that. I am not a fan of cliches. But if I had been told the Truth or something approaching that at age ? 6 ? I would not be as “sick” now How dare I “blame” my parents. HOW DARE I I am “a failure” Apparently. I must believe those LIES to continue to stay alive. I am “safe” but I am not feeling “well” whatever that even means. I have shared with maybe 2 or 3 people the SECRETS or some of them In the FOO I can not share them here or anywhere that is “public”for my Health and Safety. Respect and kind thoughts to all Sentient Beings __________________ |

“she tried to destroy me”
Those “fated” words I told ........ someone..... who asked me ‘`what happened” Loaded words indeed. I was not guarded enough. And wow. The lack of understanding. The lack of respect. The lack of basic common sense. It mirrored what I received throughout my “early childhood” How dare I even think that? __________________ |

Maybe 3 times a week. I just don’t know. How can I trust them? Ugh at me.
