That happened to one of my psych patients when I was working in that setting. He made a threatening letter to the FBI and they came to assess him. He was physically unable to do anything so they just left. I missed the excitement.

------Ive never heard that. Did you write him? LOL Where did you hear that?
They do have to guard against assassination attempts.
In the US, I think people understand that a letter is most likely to reach only the president's staff.
Yes. A pal at the hospital wrote Obama with some incendiary remarks. The secret service did, in fact, pay him a visit.

I wish my computer could automatically delete any angry emails before I press send. Also...I immediately delete them on my end after sending them so sometimes I don't remember what I said.

I am trying to not use email for anything but business.

Now I write letters and lock them up in my security box. I have three in there right now. This is a better way...as I clear my emotions but don't burden others.

I hate when people send me angry emails or texts. I just don't want to do it anymore.

I can think of a few people I'd love to send an angry email to.

I also hate it when people send them to me, out of nowhere.

And then? I am ''the bad person'' .. yeah right. ''Family'' have done this to me

I don't know if its tied to bipolar disorder because I've done it when I am in the luteal phase of my period and have severe PMS/PMDD symptoms, and I don't have bipolar disorder.

Just yesterday, I wrote a 3 page angry email. But I didn't send it. I saved it in my drafts. After I had a night to calm down, I rewrote it today when I was more clear minded. It still came across as very upset, but not crazy-level-furious as it was yesterday in tone.

Do people do this more when in a particular sort of episode/mood state?

I do when I’m manic. I send angry and, more frequently, emails with wayyyyyyy too much information.
