Uhh.. why does it say, "the U.S. will agree that a sentence of 48 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release is the appropriate sentence in this case."???
He prescribed drugs in exchange for sexual photos and prescribed non-psych meds, as well as overprescribing stimulants. I am no legal professional, but how the heck does he get only 4 years in prison for that? Usually doctors get at least 10 years for that! And you know if your former pdoc displays "good behavior," he will probably get out in 2. Also, if he was already imprisoned awaiting trial, he may get out in less than 2. To me, that seems like a slap on the wrist. Sorry your former pdoc did these reckless things though. I can imagine it is shocking. I have a cousin who did unspeakable things and it shocked me. Sometimes people who we think we know well actually lead shady second lives. It's horrible. |

That is so creepy. I'm sorry you crossed paths with such a deplorable human being. And I agree that his sentence seems awfully short.
Once I was sitting in the office of a slimy pdoc, he took a phone call and I could hear the woman on the phone with him. She was a client backing out of a dinner date, he was urging her to meet him. It was upsetting to say the least. I never went back. __________________ |

He hasn’t been imprisoned at all still I don’t believe but I agree the sentencing is a meager slap on the wrist...quite ridiculous!
I saw him starting at age 15 so 22 years ago and then went back to him again 8 years ago. I left when it was clear he was way, way, way over medicating me and he was saying and doing some things that seemed questionable. I still can’t believe this though...especially that he was so sleazy...he always seemed like such a nice guy at least. And Beth, I’m sorry you had to go through that. Abuse of power is always so disconcerting! __________________ ***** Every finger in the room is pointing at me I want to spit in their faces then I get afraid of what that could bring I got a bowling ball in my stomach I got a desert in my mouth Figures that my courage would choose to sell out now Tori Amos ~ Crucify Dx: Schizoaffective Disorder |

I knew he was bad and that he was not a good provider for you but this is awful. All the poor people he messed with and treated badly in a variety of ways. I am so glad you got away from him and have a doctor who seems to know how to treat you and genuinely cares about you. That doctor was a disaster.

Yikes. Just yikes. And I'll join in in saying the sentence is a joke for the magnitude of wrong-doing! So glad you got free of that azz.

Wait what now???
And his charges and sentence are only drug related? I see nothing regarding the legality of his predatorial acts. Wasn't that in itself illegal? Isn't that supposed to be included or is the predatory side of his case just being overlooked?
