I keep thinking either I'm already dead and this is the afterlife or I'm still alive and what are the odds that that would happen given everything I've been through/done unless I'm invincible? And the storms that just "miraculously" always miss my area (I put "miraculously" in quotes because I'm kinda upset that we never get storms. I used to want to be a tornado chaser and it's still kind of a dream but not a goal of mine). The more I think about it the more I genuinely believe I cannot die, but I also realize that there are billions of people on this planet that haven't died yet and that doesn't mean they won't and I could be one of them. So I get both sides of the argument and I'm favoring the invincible side, but I feel like that's irrational.
Ideas?

I guess I have to ask: why do you think you're dead or immortal? Like, what makes you feel this way? Did something happen that convinced you one way or another?

I believe that I will die. But I also believe that while my physical body will die my soul and spirit will continue to live. I.e. I believe that my soul and spirit are immortal.

I guess this sounds weird, but the weather forecasts. They always say we're going to get storms, but we hardly ever actually get them and when we do they're typically just a distant rumble of thunder or two. I feel like this is a sign my physical body can't die.

You can be assured this is no afterlife. If so, I'm in some sort of wondrous hell. This year alone should prove you aren't immortal. Look around at everything happening. You aren't that different from those it's happening to

Hey there, spikes! Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post. If not, it sounds to me like you have some psychosis going on. Do you think that's possible?

There's only one way to test your theory and that course of action is a no go.

On one level or another we are all immortal. If you can follow Pookyl's belief system there is a piece of you that always continues. If you don't believe in that, science says we are forever entangled with this world Quantumly. Either way, a piece of you always remains.

If your belief is that you maintain your current body forever, perhaps look at your history. Has your body aged over time?

I do not believe I have all of the answers of how life works. All I know is we can spend it processing theories with limited means of finding answers, or we can live in the moment and use the time we have to the fullest. It is a choice of focus and what value it brings.

Stopping a train of thought like this can be difficult. It often requires repeated attempts to seed new beliefs, but it can absolutely be done.

you are not the only person who thinks this way

I have really done nothing with my life, and have nothing to show for it, and still, to this day, I am convinced my punnishment is emortality. until I forfill my purpose (what ever that might be), I'm stuck being emortal.

Wait to hit 70, if you make it.
You feel life is slowly going out of you.

Cheers
