meditation honestly, it doesn't do anything for me. I suppose it has to do with the fact I can never relax and I can't imagine things in my head (I can't for example see a castle, unless I'm in a castle type thing) the only acceptions are my flashbacks do you have any negative memories connected to the holidays, and if so, how do you deal with them when that day comes around |

Not really. Well, I could say that I have a little sad memory about my 30th birthday. My paternal grandmother died that day. She was an ideal type of grandmother, unlike my maternal one. Also, I remember that one of my psychiatric hospitalizations fell during a birthday. It was actually not that bad, considering. They made a big deal about it. I was surprised. I hadn't expected anything, or been dwelling on it. As for when my birthday rolls around, I don't give either that much thought. I don't keep track of death (or other bad) anniversaries. I choose to remember loved ones all of the time and put bad times behind me. When I'm well, I don't dwell on sadness. Plus, I've been known to almost forget (or forget) my anniversary, my husband's name day/birthday, and even my own birthday. [Hubby gets angry since he is a like a little boy about such days.]
Q: What was your favorite gift you ever received on a holiday (Christmas, birthday, or other holiday)? Last edited by Soupe du jour; Oct 28, 2020 at 02:18 PM.. |
