I was 7 years old & his name was Gilbert. I thought about him all the time & could hardly wait to see him again at school the next day. He was so cute.

Why do you think we want friends?

We are hired wired to be social (we are social animals)

Do you like talking to new people? Online?

I like talking to new people in person and online. I struggle and get really anxious with people in positions of authority, like doctors, my cat's vet, the building manager, although she's very nice. But social chit chat with ordinary people I find easy and enjoyable. I find it easier in person than online, so covid's been hard on me.

Do you like rolling up your pants and wading in the water...whatever body of water is available to you?

Lol, yes. Rodney. He rode the same school bus and lived in a yellow house. I don't think I ever even spoke to him (I was painfully shy). Haha.

What is your favorite dried fruit?

My favorite dried fruit would be the fig, but it seems like the only time they're around is at Christmas time with mixed dried fruits in gift packages.

How do you feel about wild horses?

Sings "Wild horses...couldn't drag me away..." The Rolling Stones, you say? Ah, no - wild horses.

I think wild horses are magnificent. I hear there are great wild horse herds in Nevada, but I've never seen any.

Have you ever watched The Mickey Mouse Club?

I have to be "in the mood" to actually enjoy it. Usually it's a chore. Except for smoothies. I enjoy making my smoothies, but that's not really cooking.

Do you journal?

Hi Sapien, welcome to PC!

I have a love/hate relationship with my journal. My wife wants me to try using my camera to take a picture of something that emotionally evokes something from me daily. I might try that. She's a smart one, that lass of mine.

Have you ever read the posthostumous autobiography in the way of an author's journals either in the form of Cave Writings, Aboriginal Drawings, Ancient journals of poets, philosophers and generals of Rome, or a slave living in the South? What about Anne Frank or Benjamin Franklin? Just curious. I find some fascinating, some scary, some devastating.

when I was at school we did anne frank's diary, but I only remember a very little bit about it

I was all ready starting to struggle with my mental health, and as well as the general oh I don't like school, I don't like the teachers, I just didn't retain stuff because of my memory issues.

I've not read anything like that since. I've not really read anything since... I have, but not entire books. my focus for reading isn't their. shame really. their's a lot of stuff out their I do want to read

question: how did you discover this forum?. was it through search?. a friend?. another site?

I told a friend I wished I could find a support group. She used the internet to discover NAMI & sent me downloaded printouts about them. I used my cell phone browser to visit their websites. That eventually led me to PC.

Have you ever had a pet duck?

about age 9 I started having problems in school and saw the school counselor a few times. The school decided to send me to her. They make sure you don't feel like anything is wrong with you, just that you seem to need to talk. I didn't realize anything permanent was wrong until much, much later, like the middle of grad school. I was very hard to convince that I needed meds long term and that I needed treatment period.

Is there a word you never can remember how to spell?

A few. I am not great at spelling at all. Auto correct doesn't help. "Endeavor" is sometimes an example. Also "supposedly". The latter is surely because of regional pronunciation differences. Also, I tend to spell more accurately when typing on my laptop than on my phone.

What is your favorite word in the English language (or other language)?
