So maybe a bit off topic but I believe this situation is exaggerating my current mental state. I already felt some heightened /agitated mood coming right before this happened.
I called one of the credit beauros trying to access my account and in order to verify my account I was asked to provide all my personal information over the phone. I assume you would have to... a week later I received 2 robocalls for ssn scam. I did not answer or call back but now I'm paranoid thinking the guy on the phone who maybe thought I was rude and clearly didn't like me gave out my information to scammers or did it himself. also I was using my phone number to log in for many accounts, I know a lot of these customer service people are in foreign countries so that's potentially bad. I read that the scam caller usually don't already have your information so that makes me feel a bit better. I'm suspicious about activity on one of my credit card accounts but I verified there are no unauthorized charges. I tried to look at my call history of when I called them and the number is GONE! Ive changed passwords, phone numbers, been checking credit report ( a week AFTER the call). I don't know what else I can do to calm down. Im pretty sure I still have alerts on 2 credit accounts so hope that's enough. And I keep tying to create a new fraud alert for the same beauro I called and I can't access the page anymore!!I'm very agitated. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this? advice on what else I can do. |

HI artsygirl88. Sorry you are having challenges with credit cards and credit bureau.
One way to prevent credit being established in your name fraudulently is explained here Credit Freeze FAQs | FTC Consumer Information If you are a AAA member then they have a free credit monitoring that you can sign up for. There are also paid options with this and other credit monitoring services. If you get any services from Social Security like Medicare, Disability or Social Security, there is an online account you can set up that prevents someone else from doing that. Then you can monitor any activity there. The United States Social Security Administration __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |
