(re another post) It made me think of how I love watching sea creatures frolic and swim. Sometimes it's the only thing that calms me. Do you like sea creatures?

(mods please don't move this post)

Yes, I’m quite interested in the coelacanth if you’ve ever heard of those? They live quite far down and are referred to as “living fossils” because they’ve hardly changed in millions of years. They’re also catchable in the Animal Crossing games, which is how I first learned about them.
Aside from them, I love footage of rays gliding through the water. They look so graceful.

Yes, I do love sea creatures
I love polar bears (which are marine mammals though I wouldn't call them "sea creatures")
for actual sea creatures I love stingrays, I got to pet one on a field trip when I was still in school once and I would love to have clothes of the same texture.

I love puffer fish and cuttle fish. They both are very smart and the puffers are very personable. I have a tattoo of one of each on the top of my feet.

As a kid, both my parents and grandparents had boats in a marina off the Barnegat Bay. Those were lovely memories. The smells of the sea, sounds, sea animals/fish, are all lovely.

When my sons were little we used to go to the Monterrey Bay Aquarium a lot. One day we decided to take the Behind-the-Scenes tour. (Think maintenance corridors for all the giant fish tanks.)

Our guide stopped at one tank to tell us they'd had a mystery surrounding this one. Fish were going missing. They couldn't figure out what was happening so finally put up a camera to watch the tank overnight. It turns out an octopus in a neighbouring tank could see the fish and was climbing out of her tank, slinking along the floor, climbing into the fish tank to have a midnight snack, then scampering back to her own tank before the morning rounds happened. The staff were gobsmacked.

So they put artificial grass around the top of the octopus tank to keep her from climbing out. She doesn't like the prickly feel of the plastic grass.

I'm impressed by her intelligence, not just getting to the other tank, but returning to her own.

As you know, Fuzzy, I loooooooove sea otters. At the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the caretakers throw lots of toys and other 'enrichment' objects into their exhibit and it's super fun to watch them play with and interact with them. And then watching them just swim around on their backs is so calming! There's one in particular who's super chill, who just barely uses her flippers to move along, she glides through the water so slowly and calmly...

If anyone is interested, not only does the aquarium have a live cam on them, but there's a live cam on the Monterey Bay, changing points of view every few minutes. I put my ipad on a shelf with the Bay on and it's like a beautiful moving picture I can see from much of my apartment!

In all honesty they mostly freak me out.
I will not be caught dead snorkeling, or scuba diving, I'd probably have a panic attack under water since I am literally terrified of crustaceans Sea creaturesSea creatures

I like Sharks, Dolphins, Seals and Killer Whales though.

That being said, I find that little fish in a tank are calming to watch.
