Today I called my CPN and told her that I want to start on the depot injection for my Anti-Psychotic Aririprazole. There is a possibility i can start it on the 8th Oct. I'm nervous about it but I need to do something. She said I have made a great choice. I'm really unsure about letting the mental health team take control over my choice of meds. She has said I can solely take the injection see how it goes if needs be ill need to take a mood stabiliser.

That's great! I hope the injection helps. I'm on the risperdal injection and it actually keeps me more med compliant with my other meds because it's like "if I can't stop them all, why stop any?"
Good luck |

I think this is a great choice on your part. I've heard (read) many people saying it has made a wonderful improvement to their lives because it simplifies their med compliance.

I have never offered an injectable. You all make valid points as to the why I should though.

Sounds like a great step, Miss Laura! I'm sure that if it levels your mood well without any major side effects that you will be quite happy with this decision. I've read many people say Abilify was low or even no side effects. It was weight friendly for me.

I thought about doing the same, but then I would have to change mood stabilizers (APs.)

I made the same decision about a year ago and I've never regretted it. Excellent choice.
