Well it has been since June since I have been sick. First they thought my bipolar meds. Then I had liver and kidney issues and now my bloodwork is still all over the place and they can’t explain why. My dr is very would because two of my numbers which obviously I have forgotten which ones indicate I could have a heart attack or stroke within a year. You would think I would be upset or worried but I am mainly apathetic to it all.

I understand being apathetic to information that would normally be upsetting. I'm sorry your physical health is suffering and you have no answers, hopefully they can figure something out soon and prevent anything bad from happening.

I'm sorry Crook. Do you (or they) have a plan?

My health has suffered as a direct result of being obese and from the meds themselves. Zyprexa is a major player in bad health. So is lithium. I don't care what Kay Redfield Jamison says! (She swears that lithium is the best med and no one needs any other and she's been taking it for 40 years....) Zyprexa ruined my liver. Lithium gave me toxicity and I'm LUCKY it didn't damage my kidneys!
So I feel ya, Crook. All we can do is get off these meds and hope for the best. __________________ Wellbutrin XL 300 mg Caplyta 42 mg Ingrezza 80 mg Ativan .5 mg 2x/day Propranolol 20 mg 2x/day Mania (December 2023) Mixed episode/Hypomania (September 2023) Depression, Anxiety and Intrusive thoughts (September 2021) Depression & Psychosis (July/August 2021) Mania (April/May 2019) |

It is not just the illness, Moose. There is increasing evidence that bipolar illness, itself, likely causes insulin resistance and obesity all by itself. Has to do with the pineal gland, light, and melatonin. Hugs!!

Now having anxiety about not knowing what is wrong and not really having a plan forward. They are just blindly trying things.

Inflammation numbers are more than double where they should be so I am at risk for a heart attack or stroke within a year. She immediately put me on a statin I hope it works.

How unnerving. Is there a next step besides the statin?
