How do you pass out candy this year with social distancing?
My neighbor said he was going to throw it at the children.
others suggested making a shute with PVC pipe. others are making gift bags to set on tables for the kids to take.
we usually have 2 hundred kids come thru at least.
My husband decorates the yard with 20 tombstones and ground breakers.
fog machine and torches. spooky music and wears a mic to scare the kids, of course he dresses up WE were dead bride and groom until I no longer fit into my wedding dress. 3 years ago, very depressing.

I'm planning to wear a mask and hand it out. If they reach out a few feet and I reach out a few feet it should be fine. We're going to post up at the end of the driveway so that we're out in the open air.

You could also put some candy on a little you shovel or a long spoon to get a bit of extra distance.

Technically you would need to wear gloves to fill the gift bags so the kids can take it.

If I'm honest its just a faff (bother)

I tbh never do Halloween. My parents never took us round to other houses and I don't really get the whole "guising" sorry Scottish word there kinda means dressing up and going round houses. As an adult I'm happy watching scary movies in the comfort of my house eating take out and nibbles (snacks). Kids don't even come to my door lol....

I guess you could do the gift bags i don't know what else you can do? Its really hard and confusing what you could do. The government in Scotland are like don't go to other houses and to cancel this year.... who knows what to do we are all confused huh?

When I was a little girl and went t-or-t'ing there were hundreds of kids out. Wow, was that ever fun! Now there are hardly any kids out. I don't feel safe to keep opening the door, so every year I've been setting a bowl of candy out, just in case kids came. Every H'ween I end up with a bunch of leftover candy that I eat. Sooo, this year I'm not putting any out.

If I was doing the whole Halloween thing I'd just wear a mask when I passed out candy. I wonder if anyone will dress up as the corona virus this year?

We always do a halloween party. This year we're away from our house. They're doing a Halloween party for the little ones instead of taking them out.

I think this year we’re just not gonna hand out candy, in a normal year we might get two kids so it’s not like a lot of people will be missing out.
I saw one video where they made a zipline for candy from the owners door to the mailbox, I thought that was cool

I decided to get a card table from our neighbors to set up at the drive way.
It is 4 feet wide, square, so if I sit back 2 feet and they get the candy from my tray. Then we will be 6 feet apart. I will wear a mask of course.
will cover the table with a black sheet of plastic table cloth. Am going to go to costco to get a lot of candy.

I bought 12 inch skewer sticks to attach the candy to each & then I will put the skewered candy on the side of my driveway. I’ll also put signs that say “one per customer” or something like that.

I bought 10 pounds of candy from costco, all of them are hard candies that won't go bad if I have them left over for next year.

I’ve been so stressed I literally ate the candy I bought for trick-or-treating. I actually have to go out and get more… My intention was to just leave a bowl outside though.

They wiped us out of candy! we had to steal from our own stash.....sugarfree hard candies.we ended up with 10 of those left.
10 pounds of candy and hundreds of kids only getting 1 piece of candy each, lots of compliments about the house decorations all my husbands doing.

hubby and I both wore a mask. unfortunately only a handful of kids had masks on....I did not see any adults wearing masks, people are getting to be very complacent here.

Wow! That was a lot of action. It was really nice of you to participate. Children have struggled with all of the ups and downs lately just as we have. Halloween was a moment where kids were able to feel normal again for a few moments and just have fun. You and your husband offered a kind service to your neighbors.
