Thanksgiving

Anyone have plans?

In the spring, my husband and I discussed going to our DIL's parents for TG, but that's not happening due to covid. I will almost surely be alone on the day, watching movies and such. I doubt my husband will come over, unless it's just for an hour or so. He'll probably catch up on sleep and listen to conservative radio with the specific intent to annoy himself.

If anyone is around here, I'll be checking in throughout the day.

I'll be home alone too, so I'll likely be on here, playing games, and watching stuff on Netflix. My apartment complex had their Thanksgiving meal last week so I don't feel like cooking my turkey Thursday, I'm gonna save it for some other time. But I'll probably make some stuffing w/ gravy to eat and some cranberry sauce lol

My parents and I were going to see each other, but she has had a fever for two days and is getting tested as I write. If it’s not covid, we may end up not seeing each other because she will be sick of something else and will be compromised. I’m trying to think of all the people I may have seen in the last week or so. Not many, but enough. Anyway, I will probably be at home too and go to my studio for part of the day. If she is positive, then I will need to get tested and tell everyone I’ve seen to get tested.

No plans for my husband and me, this year. In recent years, we used to go to Florida over Thanksgiving. That's not happening this year. My dad is in assisted living (no visitors for any dinner or even on Thanksgiving day), my sister is inviting my brother to her house, and Hubby and I will likely eat at home alone. I'm thinking about buying takeout Peking Duck from a local Chinese restaurant. I'm perfectly fine with that. My sister did offer to give me some turkey, but I don't want it. We're not invited over because my b-i-l doesn't like my husband (and vice versa), my sister's house is a near hoarding house, and of course precautions related to covid-19.

I’m heading on the road tomorrow to see my sister who lives in the same state but 3 hours away. I feel pretty guilty going since the news is really insisting people cancel their plans. But my mom and I have been in quarantine for 2 weeks, and my sister and her family have been in quarantine since the pandemic. So I think it will be ok. I think it will be good for my mental health to have a change of scenery for a couple days.

My son and I usually go to my sisters. My whole family goes to her house. This year bc of covid, she not having any guests over. So my son and I will just stay home. I'm going to make steaks, sauteed mushrooms with mashed potatoes. Its going to be difficult with my hurt back but I think I can do it. My sister is still going to give us leftovers. I love Turkey dinner so much! So I'm glad shes giving us leftovers.

My family is having a get together and cooking. I don’t feel like making anything so not sure yet if I will. I wasn’t even sure if I was going because my husband told me it was a bad idea to have get togethers... but then he asked when was I leaving to go to it. So I will probably go. It will be good to be around my family.... even though I’m still in this depressive state.

We're going to my brother's house. He fries the turkey and the ladies handle all of the sides.

Both of my parents will be there as well. They are divorced, but they get along beautifully which is a huge blessing and makes the holidays a breeze logistically.

We're planning a family wiffle ball tournament in the afternoon if the weather holds. My little guys always love to play with their cousins.

We have a curfew here in California to discourage T-giving gatherings.

We’re following the cdc recommend guidelines and NOT meeting with family. With all the people disrespecting the guidelines I see the hospitals overflowing two weeks after thanksgiving. Americans are so selfish me me me I’m the exception it’s my holiday and I deserve it me me me

Me too, I keep seeing these people on tv that the local news interviews saying covid is not stopping them from having their holiday. I just hope they don’t lose any loved ones. The surge is ongoing here and deaths rise everyday.

I will be alone too. I usually would go over my SIL's moms house but I don't think that is happening this year as she is 78 years old.

Plus I had a falling out with my brother and he has been ignoring my facebook chats and texts all year. So I am expecting him not to invite me.

Honestly I don't care. He just better understand that if he kisses me off, that will be the end.

My mom wants me to come over to her place, now. All my kids have plans- N3 is going to his gf's dad's place; N2 is going to her boyfriend's parents' place. N1 hasn't gotten back to me, but I'm going to my mom's for turkey and then bringing left-overs home to go to N1's place an give them the left-overs. They might want to come to my place for pie.
