I am not sure which one I have and what the major differences are. Sometimes I just think I am depressed, but I know its way more. I am irritable a lot and just dont want to be here. I dont enjoy things I used to and I have isolated myself from a lot of people since I am so unhappy all the time.

I can't really say which is worse because I don't have both, but BPD has been hell for me, as I'm sure BP is hell for the people who have it.

My concern with you asking such a question is that you seem to think you have one or the other and might be basing your conclusion on which is worse in some way. This is not a good way to go about this. If you want an official diagnosis of course seek out a therapist IRL, but for just doing your own research to self-help you can look into each one more and see if the symptoms actually fit. From what little you've said here it does not sound like either BPD or BP and could still just be depression.

I have both. Neither is worse. Each presents different challenges.

The best thing you can do is see a professional. Both BP and BPD are a lot more than being depressed so they can look and see if you have other symptoms.

Due to individual experiences it's not possible to determine which is 'worse', in my opinion. If you're struggling with mental ill health though, you should consider seeing a professional to get a better idea of what's going on for you, now that you've identified you're having problems. Best wishes with it all...

I have both. BPD is worse for me. Jealousy and fear of rejection can make for a miserable day.

Yes, I think BPD may be worse, since you experience the mood swings everyday. I was diagnosed with bipolar 2, but I think I have BPD, cause I am irritable all the time. I don't get manic one week, then depressed the next week. I am up and down everyday, but mostly down. I isolate a lot and when I am alone, I feel sad and lonely, but when I am around others, I get irritable. I can't handle being around people that much, cause I have to pretend to be ok or happy and I'm not.

It would really help to talk to a professional who can properly diagnose you.

I have both and for me BPD is worse, mainly because of the stigma from even medical personnel. Otherwise they're about the same.

Yes, I agree about BPD being worse. I mean they are both horrible, but yeah.

I have BPD but not BP. My daughter has both. I don’t see her anymore because she decided to move out of state. I don’t know what it is like to have BP but I have seen the way my daughter suffers. I think 🤔 the BPD is a more serious diagnosis since it’s a personality disorder. But they both are forced to be reckoned with. To figure out what you might have, take the sanity quiz here on psych central. It’ll help. It’s not a diagnosis but it will help. You can also look up Kati Morton on YouTube. She has lots of videos on both BPD and BP and explains the difference between them.

Yes, I agree. I likely have both and I'd say BPD is worse for me.
