Hi Fuzzy!

Absolutely agree and relate to you! Hypocrites are extremely triggering especially when they are abusers in our lives too. I think part of the reason why it bothers us is because it goes against our morals and values; in essence it is a method of lying and could potentially feed into potential gas-lighting if and when we decide to challenge them. I notice this especially with Narcissists in how they project their own issues onto others and often times are unaware of it. It takes an intuitive / sensitive type with a good moral compass to notice their hypocrisy and take offense. I think detecting hypocrisy is a skill and a very valuable one!

I can be at times, but I'm getting better at recognizing it. That doesn't necessarily transfer into changing anything, but it's a start right? Baby steps

It is scary how the Narcissists in my life hate when I catch hypocrisy. I really have to be prepared for a fight from them. It's not just the hypocrisy that triggers, it's the reaction to being caught that usually throws me into a tailspin.
