I often feel suicidal. Every day to varying degrees

I can’t take meds (severe allergies)

I was posting about how I was feeling and someone replied accusing me of “attention seeking” and in a really nasty way (Not anyone here)

I wish people could look for the best in people and not jump to judge others...

I guess it’s a sign of unhappiness and insecurity when people are cruel and labelling,,

I don’t bear a grudge against this person but .. why me? I wasn’t “seeking attention” as I don’t play mind games. I was genuinely needing support, I was in “crisis” even, but this person seemed to want to hurt me.

Most people who have known me for any length of time know I try to be kind

That is all any of us can do

Try to be kind

Try to be kind

I've learned that I can't take anything people do personally. Whenever somebody says something offensive, or does something to hurt others, it's a reflection of them and how they perceive the world, not you. Brush it off and delete this person on whatever platform you had them on. You don't need that negativity in your life.

if they hurt you then you shouldn't post there
can you focus on the now
what can you do right now to make things better for you
how about listening to some calming music or watch something non triggering
you can change how you feel by being mindful of what tools you can use

I don't know what I am seeking when I feel suicidal, but attention isn't it. Mostly, I want purpose in my life, and I don't see any. That makes me feel empty and life is useless and heading for death anyway. I try not to feel that way, but it comes back pretty regularly.

Fuzzy - I know I am late to this post, but anyone who tells a suicidal person they are attention seekers ... that person doing the labelling is the attention seeker.

My mom used to tell me something when I was a child and came in crying bc kids were teasing and calling me names. She'd say .. were they pointing at you? I'd sniffle out a "y-yes". She'd say "well - they had 1 finger pointing at you, but 3 more pointing back at them. They weren't calling you that name - they called themselves that name - bc they had more of their fingers pointing at themselves than they did you." Then she would hold up her hand, and point out her finger ... and told me to count the fingers that were behind the pointing finger.. 3.. and asked "who are they pointing at?" I would giggle. "YOU!"

And its the same here. They came into a chat having no other intention than to start drama. Your intention was to get help. This person accuses you of trying to start drama - but makes it flagrantly apparent that is precisely what he/she is attempting to do to you .. start drama. One finger pointed at you - three back at them.

Don't let those things get to you. Block them. Ignore them. Report them. Tell them they are the attention seeker, not you. Any of those things are good and healthy and appropriate. But don't let them upset you further. ❤
