So I was using some online platform (something like Second Life) as an escape from my real life, and I got so invested in it that one of the players on there and I got into an argument and she deleted me, I broke down and have been having a depressive episode since. I feel like I am truly grieving. Can anyone relate to using something as an escape to real life because real life is so hard?

Oh sure... I think that's part of the reason I spend as much time as I do here on PC. It's a lot easier to be on-line dishing out sage advice to people I'll never know than it would be to confront my own real-life problems...

I've had the same problem with online gaming. It's part of the reason I stopped doing it. Hang in there.

Yes. Personally I'm escaping by playing videogames on my PS4. Especially Japanese games. I don't like reality at all. I'd rather live in a fantasy. I can relate to your specific incident too. That's why I don't play multiplayer games.

Yes, I do. I give myself very limited time online for the reason you just went thru. I've had that happen to me too. I am trying DBT to reduce those large emotions that hang around.

Hoping for better days for you !!
