I haven't had a counselor for a while and decided to try to talk to one of the online counselors that are attached via an ad on PC. I figured it was worth a try. After a questionnaire they make you do, I was told that an online counselor would not be appropriate for my situation. That surely helps the ole self-esteem and self confidence. I just wanted a suggestion or two. Yay for me.

Maybe it's the on-line counselors who are not appropriate...

They should refer you to someone who can help with your situation.

I don’t think PC has anything to do with the ads on their site. I’ve seen strange ads pop up when I am on here. Be wary of this company. It sounds like THEY are the ones who are inappropriate.

Wow. Thanks for sharing your experience, Maranara. Loving Skeezyks' response. I hope you are able to find a therapist.

Sometimes they believe face-to-face counseling is a better form of treatment for someone rather than online counseling. This is usually determined by the person's current state of mind, diagnoses, risks of impulsive suicide or self harm, and the situation in general (such as an active case of abuse vs past abuse).

Maybe it was ''just'' an inappropriate way of saying face to face counselling would be more helpful in their opinion, or that they weren't sure of ….. much at all
