I’ve been Mia-diagnosed for years with Bipolar when I was BPD. My last two psychiatrists read between the lines and asked the deciphering questions...do you have regular sleep cycles and how long do your mood swings last? They also keyed in to the flavor of these mood combat zones. BPD people have regular sleep cycles and our mood descents, I call them, last a few hours to a day for me two at the max. It’s heart not mind like bipolar. BPD effects my relationships. All these years I’ts harder to treat and diagnose than bipolar, the current flavor of the month. Now I’m mad.

Misdiagnosis and undiagnosed seems to be my lot in life. I'm absolutely still grieving the death of the child I was, before all the trauma created the person I am. Such lost potential; so many damaged relationships. I hope you find a way to work through your anger, and with a potentially more correct diagnosis, can get the help and support that will enable you to have a better future. I hope that will be true for all of us.
