when i am in a reclusive mood (often!) but still want to be with people, i often go to a meditation circle. you just have to sit there, you don't have to interact with anyone, but there are people around.

also, book stores with big armchairs where you can just sit and read.

I agree with the psychology courses. Audible carries The Great Courses so for $15 a month you can download those. I have listened to several psychology courses this way.

I find meditation circles to be frustrating. I am lonely and no one talks - even as you are arriving and leaving. It makes me feel frustrated and as if I wasted my time; I feel no better off and that little has been accomplished. I'd rather be seated in a circle where people are talking!
