My mother has always been very close and loving with my elder brother. But when it comes to me, she shuts me out. Everytime we speak, we end up getting into a major argument which often ends with her hitting me. She constantly blames me for making even the smallest mistake and calls me names, such as, crazy, *****, psycho etc. i have never hugged her or told her that i love her. My father is almost a workaholic and is barely at home. Even when he is, he barely pays any attention.
I am a 17y/o girl and have thought about running away several times. I used to cut myself for a very long time but stopped 6 months ago. I again feel the urge to start cutting. HELP.

Hi Um0810,

Thank you for sharing that. I understand your pain. I also think going 6 months without cutting is amazing. Don't give your mother the satisfaction of cutting now. Stay strong. Do you have anyone to talk too? Maybe a High School Counselor? I would look and see what is available for you. At 17 years old the time for anyone hitting you is long gone. You may need to talk to someone about this too. This is abuse and just not right.

If you need to talk feel free to contact me...

Running away won’t help. Break your umbilical chord with your mom and be your own success story. Let her praise your brother and write things down to praise yourself or tell us how fab u r😉. If she hits u defend urself.. or hit back🤷🏻*♀️I did eventually

That is abuse. Can you talk to someone at school about it?
