I've read most of Running on Empty and I've done a lot of therapy, but I have literally no one to talk to about these things. I've never had any friends or family I felt safe with talking about my feelings, pains, or needs. I don't even know what my needs are!

I am objectively smart and hardworking, and I always want to work on being a better person, but lately I live in a roomful of mirrors. I just want to be able to share and talk about things with another civilian going through their own challenges, not a professional therapist. I can't find and local support groups or Chatrooms for discussing childhood emotional neglect, but there's always, here, email, messenger, Skype, and more I'm not recalling.

Anyway, here I am.

Hi Gladeye. I think in general we are just starting to learn about the emotional needs of children. I like the article about Inuit (Eskimos) and how they never get angry or react to children's outbursts How Inuit Parents Teach Kids To Control Their Anger | KPBS

These are some articles at Psych Central - there may be place to make comments in some of the blogs

Hello Gladeye: I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So I thought I would just say welcome to Psych Central. I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

Well, I'm a CEN survivor... probably different from what you've experienced, but I'm into talking with others. It could be one on one or we could set up a time to use IRC and invite multiple people. If people want to do that, I can help with getting people to IRC if they don't know how to use it. Basically it's a service where you can create your own realtime chat channel.

I'm so sorry you're hurting so much, Gladeye Unfortunately I don't know many places where you may talk with people who are suffering from Childhood Emotional Neglect. I'm so sorry that I don't have a lot of advice to give to you. However, I'd say PC is a great place to meet some people who have suffered from CEN, like this thread has already shown! Hopefully they will see this thread and reply to you. Keep looking! I'm sure you'll be able to find someone. Your desires and feelings are perfectly valid and I hope you'll be able to find someone to talk to. Remember that we're here for you if you need it. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. I haven't been suffering from CEN, but I'm still willing to talk to you if you want it! Of course you don't have any obligation to do so. It's just an offer. The final decision is up to you. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you, Gladeye! You deserve to feel better and to be loved. You're a strong, wonderful person.! Keep fighting! You're awesome! You're strong! You're a warrior! I believe in you! We all believe in you! We're all rooting for you! You rock! Please don't give up! Try to hang on! I'm sure you'll be able to get through all of this. Do you see a therapist? Maybe that could. Just try to do your best. That's all you can do after all. Try to hang on! Keep fighting! You rock!

Cool post H3rmit!! I don't know if I would chat - I'm a non-talker like notmyrealname567, plus I live outside the USA timezones - but waouh what a positive idea.
Methinks you could also open a chatroom on this site, but no doubt you would already considered that. I used to chat on IRC a long time ago.

I'm going to read through those links posted above when I have more time later today and will be back.

Best wishes to you both!

Saidso
