Hello everyone,

I have been reading about childhood emotional neglect. Although I have participated in extensive therapy and the therapist commented on my abusive father and dysfunctional family dynamic, she never referred to CEN or its effects. When I read about it, and how it can present later in adulthood, the description sounded like me. I am wondering if anyone on the forum has found practical ways to heal and move forward. In particular, I have experienced a sense of emptiness all my life. I've never really found anything to relieve that. I read that a sense of emptiness or numbness can be caused by CEN.

Does anyone have any strategies or tips?

I don't define myself by my problems. I'm a person with strengths and challenges so I tend to take a problem-solving approach to issues like this rather than feeling hopeless.
