I hope that this post finds everyone doing alright. The boards have been quiet this week. Gentle group hugs.

Things have been crazy here and I am trying to keep up. My husband decided to accept a different job (he got three offers) which is awesome news but it requires us to move to a city about 70 miles from where we live. So, the past few days have been full of packing, running errands and last minute medical appointments and let me tell you, I am worn out.

Luckily my pain levels have mostly been around baseline which is a blessing but my anemia is taking it's toll on me. I've been enduring it for about 6 months now dealing with the symptoms by getting weekly iron infusions but still I am anemic. Part of the reason is simply having lupus and the other part is that I need a hysterectomy which will happen once we have settled into our new home and I have a new medical team.

Anyway that is what is new with me. I am thinking of all of you and hope that you have a good rest of the week. As good as possible, anyway.

I'm... Well I wouldn't jump to alright... I have ok times.., and then this void, this chasm opens up called twilight... Things happen in this unsettling time and I'm really at a loss. I think my care team is, too.
They're keeping a close eye on me- I've heard from or seen them (will) every day this week. Then the weekend hits and... That's 3 twilight I have to get through.

Auto correct keeps changing my sentences... Grrrr I'm tired of fixing it.

Kiya know we are here for you You can PM any of us and we are here for you. I now those twilight hours can be tough to get through no matter what your issue or problem is. For me lately it's been headaches or pain keeping me up.

Today is a very tough day for me. It's the third anniversary of my dad's passing. If that wasn't going to be hard enough then the fact that I have to deal with the cemetery today will be difficult not just because of his passing but my grandmother my 90 year old grandmother received a call from my dad's wife who by the way married him on his death bed and took everything. If that wasn't bad enough she tried to bad mouth me to my grandmother. That wasn't going to happen but someone vandalized his niche and the called to tell my grandmother last night at 7 pm. She knew we would be today so she called and told her it had been vandalized. She knew earlier in this day but waited till the place was closed. I sent an email last night but it upset me and the tears just came. Which only made my migraine worse plus it's been close to 90 here and by Friday we are supposed to be 20 degreess cooler. All of this changing really wrecks havoc with my fibro my lupus and my pulmonary fibrosis

We had a weird storm that knocked the electricity and internet out of service. The electric was just out a day, but the internet took longer to repair.

I got my shots on Monday. They weren't as painful as the first time. Oh, they hurt and I'm still not well, but at least it wasn't as bad as the first go around of this type of shot. I have my next round this Monday..

When there was no electricity, I opened the windows to let some cool air in. The wind was blowing fiercely and making noise and of course it was pitch dark. Belle had another spell again. It lasted two days.

I have an appointment with the vet for her tomorrow. It's so scary when that happens and she won't let me catch her or even look at her.

Had my 3rd therapy session this week (plus 30 min extra check in and a later phone call) and another short one tomorrow.
Pain in surgery are has been high, like around a 7, and it's bloody hot! We're not allowed window a/c units anymore (tho one guy still has his) and those of us upstairs are roasting. I'm sitting in front of my ice-filled fan, on the floor. This torpid heat might help me at least not injure. Tonight will plummet 30 degrees and stay that temp for tomorrow's high, then plummet another 20 tomorrow night. Like Cake, this is trying.

Positives.... I appreciate you all, at least I have 2 fans, I got a walk in today and missed the super-pounding rain storm, and I have a really incredible trauma therapy a who got me through today with flying colors.

Kiya, how in the world do they expect you to make it through summer with no AC? Isn't that against the law? Aaargh! I wish you could live here.

I'm very glad you are getting through with no self harm and that you missed the storm.

Belle goes back to the vet today. I have to compile a list of what I want for her and questions I have. Then, as soon as I get home from that I have to change and be ready to leave ASAP to attend a wake which is not near here. I'm worried about the colitis, but it's really important that I be there.

I had PT and received my back brace yesterday. The pain was unreal and caused a massive migraine also. I am much more comfortable this morning, but I am really hesitant to do my exercises today in case it sets the pain off again.

Kiya have you looked into a potable air conditioner? I am not sure if you have a Home Depot where you live but I have been looking at them because with lupus even the heat makes me sick. Hubby doesn't want a window unit. According to him they are ugly and someone can break into your home when you are gone. We are hoping to get a new heater and add ac then. in the mean time we have ceiling fans in each bedroom and 2 in the front room and tile and wood flooring no carpet. There have been times when a grabbed a pillow and laid on the tile floor

But going back to the portable AC unit when I first looked at them years ago they were very expensive now you can get one for $275.00. It's still a lot of money but if it works...... and you can move it to your front room to your bedroom and even your bathroom if you want

Jan don't do to much. I am pretty sick today but it's my own fault. I spent 3 + hours outside yesterday in the record heat yelling at the cemetery people. Then I had to get up early because they said the washing machine guy would be here between 8am and noon. I called them at 11:20 and they said they would be here by 1:00 pm. I am not a happy camper

Quick update ! The move was hellish but we made it finally!

I have about 90% of everything put away ( go me) in the house.

We really really love this lil place.

Next job is getting the garage organized with my Husband.

Although I am in hellish pain I know me , I won't stop til everything is in order , then I will collapse. lol

I don't use anyone's real name- I use their screen names or shortened versions of them. Liz for Lizard Lady, Jan for January, Cake for Cake Lady etc.

Cake, those portables still have tubes that connect to a window, like a small swamp cooler. You still have to fit it in a window.

i use a little portable indoor water cooler, and when times get hot i can put ice in it and on top of it too~! it only cost me about $50, and is VERY energy effecient. i can point it at me where ever i am, i like that~! i suppose if you live in a very muggy climate, you might want to invest in a dehumidifier... too. best wishes~!
