Wink Re: chronic pain and weather

I have a ruptured disc in my low back that impinges on the sciatic nerve. So I have the sciatica down my left leg as well as some discomfort down the right leg as well. I have never noticed that it is particularly affected by the weather. I do a combination of some physical therapy exercises I learned plus yoga asanas most days. I also walk quite a bit. I'm careful about bending & lifting too. These things help to keep my level of discomfort as low as possible. (I also have tinnitus. And although it's not painful, it certainly is chronic... & difficult to live with...)

thanks for your reply.

it's interesting you don't notice any changes with the weather.

that's 1 of the first things I notice

(and I can't bend down, getting up is virtually impossible!)

My problem is classic rheumatism. When the humidity starts to rise as the barometer starts to fall it is most uncomfortable, and it hurts all over more than anywhere else. One of my old cowboy friends says just pour some more whiskey on it and it'll quit after a while..... and if it don't and ya run out'a whiskey, just knock yourself in the head with the bottle. That usually works ever-time.

Pain is worse in the winter. The cold and damp together intensifies my chronic pain.

Have you ever tried Mynoise.net (NOT .com)? I don't have tinnitus but I use it and I've seen comments that for some people with tinnitus it's helpful.

Much worse when colder ...
Also when a low pressure system is moving through the area.
