it snowed on my baby lilac buds last night... just a couple of inches, but they really don't care for that.... __________________ AWAKEN~! |

Well my daughter had her first court appearance yesterday. I was so nervous about the whole thing that I didn't get any sleep then it was a long day and a lot of walking and I just had my crutch I didn't take my powerchair.
I wish I didn't have to go out today but it's my brother in law's birthday and he's real sick. I believe I told you guys he was dx with a rare form of cancer last January he finished his treatment over the summer but since then he's just gotten worse. He is cancer free but I think he has radiation poisoning. He had surgery to open his throat more he couldn't even get water down. It should have been an out patient thing but he was in the hospital for a week. They sent him home with a feeding tub in his nose and down his throat. Since then he has lost an additional 100 lbs. he was over weight when he started his treatment but since he stopped he's just gotten worse. He can barely talk because of the tube. They are supposed to take it out and put one through his belly button but haven't done it yet. He has not eaten or drank anything in 5-6 weeks and he loves food. His daughter finely drove down today with her kids to see him. It's been years since we have seen her and he hasn't seen them either. She was supposed to be here for a few days then she wasn't coming then last minute she said she will come for 1 day. She got a hotel room then went to my husband's sister and said that they charged her card twice for the room and now she doesn't have money to drive home. I call bull s**t on that. She knew his work had started a gofundme account for her dad. She ended up getting $400 to help cover her expenses then she cried to my sister in law again that she really didn't have food for her kids while here. She's 30 years old hello. So my sister in law who has Parkinson's went home and packed up a bunch of food for her and her kids and drove it to her hotel. She also had the nerve to ask her sick dad if he would sell his motorcycle and buy her a car since her boyfriend is using hers. I swear I wanted to smack her. Ok I am down ranting I just don't like people using other people or taking advantage of them it's sad. __________________ |

thanks for your concern over my piddling little troubles, Cake, which are trifling compared to your own. i do understand how caring can take so much out of a person... do let us know what the judgement is on your daughter (she better be exonerated, and learn her lesson!). i have a cousin in ICU with total kidney failure, his immediate family has lost control of his fate... it's all very sad and stressful. and my other cousin, who recently moved here to retire and take care of her elderly parents, has had to put her dad in hospice, and return her mother to Denver (she is demented and violent towards her husband, who is 89 yrs old). i feel, as you do, that it's a terrible thing to leech off of the dying... i have seen it before, more than once, and it's disgusting... i hope she goes away and doesn't come back,,, {{{{ Cake~! }}}} please take care of yourself, use your chair, save your strength, you need all the help you can get now~ __________________ AWAKEN~! |

Cake, I firmly believe that people like your brother-in-law's daughter will get what they deserve in the long run. She sounds like a real "female dog." There were times dealing with my mom's ill health at the end of her life I some times wished there was another family member to help share the load. Then I'd hear a story like this and think handling it on my own wasn't so bad afterall.
Gus, how are your lilacs doing? I miss lilacs living here in the south. Jan, please don't beat yourself up for "not doing enough" for Belle. She is very lucky to have you. BTW, I love the image of he laying in your lap while you brush her teeth. |

I've posted in the past about my frustration with myself over not knowing when to quit. Gonna brag on myself a bit.
I need to go take care of some yard work at my mom's house. (It's actually my house. I inherited it from her, but it sounds stuck up to say "My other house.") I was going to go yesterday after I went riding with a friend. I was exhausted and hurting. I decided to put off the trip until today. I did do some yard work here at home, but knocked off when I got tired! Maybe I'm finally learning! |

i hope everyone is busy having too much fun, (tho i don't hold my breath). it's lonely in here~ everyone is busy, my cousin died, it was all very horrid with the docs taking control away from the family. he was in ICU for 10 days. now i expect to hear there's a memorial, at which half the people won't be talking to the other half.... i have one cousin who will take me (in the past no one would even give me a ride)... and i told her she can use me for an excuse if she wants to leave early~ __________________ AWAKEN~! |

Hello my Friends!
It's been a little hectic here. I'm sorry I haven't written. It's still hard to sit here at the desk because of my knees. I can see some improvement from the injections, but not as much as I had hoped would happen. I have decided to ask the surgeon about wearing braces on my knees when I have to go to the store. Maybe that will help the pain. I imagine it's less painful than knee replacements. Miss Belle has been sick, too, but she's better. It's like we both had some kind of stomach virus. A nasty woman in another building here was very rude to me and to Belle. I don't care if she's rude to me, but I'll be darned if she's going to be rude to Belle again. She refused to speak to me even though I was extra nice and poor little Belle wanted to play with the woman's beagle, but she was having none of it. She didn't speak and drug her dog away from Belle like she was scum. Belle is the manager's favorite here. I'll find out what the woman's problem is. Maybe she's socially awkward, but she seemed just mean! Belle's collar wore out, so she got a new one. It's pink with little "crystals" on it. She has to have her bling!! She also got a little rain coat that's clear with pink piping. It didn't cost very much at all and I don't want to have to give her a bath every day we go walking in the rain. Belle still loves to have her teeth brushed. We're both doing a lot better at it than when we started. It takes practice. She just loves to lick the toothbrush when we're done and then she hops down to get her treat for being such a good girl! I told her vet how great she does and she asked if I could take a video so she could show it to her other clients who are afraid it's too hard to do. I don't have a smart phone, but my friend does and she said she'd record it while I brush Belle's teeth. Belle's going to be a movie star! LOLOL! I'm so sorry for your troubles, Cake. That nasty niece needs to be told what-for! I sure hope your daughter is exonerated, as she should be. Gus, I'm so sorry about your cousin. I'm glad you got to go to the birthday party, though. I know how you love root beer floats. As always, thank you for the beautiful pictures. Please don't stop sharing them with us. I love you all! __________________ I still dream and I still hope, therefore I can take what comes today. Jan is in Lothlorien reading 'neath a mallorn tree. I am sorry, I have few words today. Just stopping in to say you are all on my mind! My mother (lives with us) fell down the stairs. Injured her knee, sprained her ankle and broke 3 toes. She is very frustrated as she was just cleared to return to pool exercise class and now this. I am having a lot of fibromyalgia. Have not slept well for a few nights, which makes it all worse, as you know. I hope everyone has a decent weekend! healing thoughts to your mother, WC~! omg, it's like a plot to keep her down.... that is very frustrating, and now that she's depending on you to get up and down for her,, you are in agony~~~ {{{{ Jan~! }}}} i got a little ace bandage sock thing for my knee when i hurt it, it really did help, and it's totally soft, so no rubbing, etc.... you don't even need to ask the doc, if you can scrape of the necessary~~~ omg, i feel so bad for your bank account~! __________________ AWAKEN~! |
