Child, I tried one dose of Lyrica years ago. I was stoned for days afterward. Never took a second dose. My pdoc told me that lots of folks have the reaction I did. On the other hand it helps lots of people.

more whining....

This current flare has lasted two weeks with no end in sight. It's reached a point that people at work are asking if I'm ok. I smile and tell them I'm "wonderful." The ones that know about the fibro know that's code for "I'm miserable."

Monday was a friggin' nightmare. Two hour drive to the corporate office, then two hour drive back. I was so exhausted I felt drunk. I should not have been on the road. Got home to discover Ollie was getting worse. That resulted in a hour drive to the vet, then an hour back home. I was close to dead when I got home. I would've called in Tuesday, but had an important meeting with a client (who did not show up!).

I hurt and am exhausted. I left work early Friday. Didn't do much of anything yesterday except nap. I plan to do the same today. Still... pain level is through the roof and I feel drunk I'm so tired. I know from past experience that if this continues I'm going to crash and burn big time.

side note about Ollie - he did not have a blockage, but does have crystals in his urine and a UTI. He has joined Dobby getting prescription diet food. For the cat lovers in the crowd, the vet told me that they are now recommending canned food for kitties. Research has shown that dry food leads to crystals.

I posted above about the flare I am struggling with. A question for the group. I am physically and emotionally a raw nerve ending. How do y'all cope with the emotional aspect of this? I burst into tears at the sight of a dead possum on the side of the road.

I was surprised when the pharmacy treated it as a controlled substance. So far so good. I haven't had a reaction where I feel high, and it does seem to be helping a little.

Anti-depressant helps me with the emotions. I get claustrophobic from the pain. Breathing exercises, focal points, using distractions, etc. I hope you find relief.

My fibromyalgia has been kicking off again lately. Usually it’s manageable but lately I have been sick a lot, so it’s bad. Yesterday I woke up with pain everywhere. Felt like I was run over by a train.
My doc won’t prescribe anything because she seems to think it’s a make up disease- it’s obvious she has never experienced anything like this as clearly one would not choose to be in this amount of pain.

It has been awhile so I thought that I would do an update. Bottom line (w/0 sugar coating it) lupus is kicking my ***. I still fight left in me but somedays it sure is hard.

Ihave been hospitalized five times since August the most recent stay just last week. I had part of colon removed in January and just recently passed out from being severely anemic. Turns out I was bleeding from the colon where they sewed it back up. I face follow up surgery at the end of May. I also need to get 3 kidney stones taken care of but that is on the back burner for now.

When I was in the hospital last week we got an email from landlord saying Owners want their house back no later than June 30th. JOY OH JOY. Only a few weeks to feel better and pack up our stuff. The big thing is finding a house that's good for our needs. Lord give me a bolt of energy to get us moved and situated.

I may not post here often but please know that you all are in my heart and prayers.

Friends,

I am not going to answer each of of you. As you read on, you'll understand why but know each of you are in my thoughts, heart, and if you'll accept them, prayers every day.

Tomorrow is my apartment inspection. So, I've cleaned so that this place looks like a motel. No one lives here until they come, inspect and leave. It was clean to start with and would easily have passed inspection as it was, but my OCD kicks in when it's time for inspections.

I had cortizone injections in both feet today. I need another one in my shoulder joint, but the first one hurt so very much that I don't want to drive myself and well.. that's a horse of a different color.

I read an article that said if you have just arthritis, you have relief of pain for a few days. It said that if you have arthritis plus fibro, you will have little to no relief, certainly not a hiatus. This was from John Hopkins, so I am comfortable with their information. I think I saved the article if anyone wants a copy of it.

Belle has almost quit eating. If I cook food for her, she will eat it, but she won't eat dry dog food. On the advice of the vet, I changed the meat source and she doesn't like that. So, something has got to give. She's lost about a pound and she's too tiny to do that. I don't know how on earth I can afford quality canned food for her. It's over $1 a day! It's not her teeth. She just had oral surgery which was very successful.

Do not, whatever you do, mistake your miniature tube of denture adhesive for your special Sjogrens eye gel and fill your entire eye with it. It's painful and has horrible effects. I'm just saying...

It's been an interesting day.

Love to all.

I passed the inspection with flying colors. It
was honestly fine before I started cleaning, but my OCD kicked in major time.

I saw the eye specialist. There are several abrasions in my eye, but they will heal. He gave me some drops for pain and they help.

I talked to the vet about Belle. He told me to cook chicken, carrots and green beans for her, and mix a little of the kibble in with it. I know her. She will ignore the kibble. I've been cooking for her anyway. She can't starve! I was so tired tonight that I splurged and bought a foot long sub at and ordered what she likes. I cut it into tiny bites for her and she ate almost all of it. She must be stuffed!

Love to all!

Belle ate all her chicken tonight, a couple bites of carrots, but no green beans. I added a little butter for extra flavor, but the vegies are not a win with her.

My eye really hurts tonight, but that's to be expected, I guess. I'm so grateful it wasn't much worse. I am blessed.

I love you all.
