The extra excuciating pain (that shall be referred to as "THAT" Pain from here on out) I was in finally let up around the 18th of March.

After suffering with it for two months (it came on in mid January), I couldn't trust it was really gone.

However, I think it's safe to say it's actually really gone now, and I hope The SOB (whatever it was) never comes back!

today in the UK it's mothers day.

I don't have a mother, (or a mother that wants anything to do with me), so today's hard

made slightly easier though by the fact that comercials for it arn't everywhere like most years. just sucks that in sted of going out with my mother like most individuals, I'm staying in doing **** all.

yesterday I had a panic attack because I only had 5 peaces of chicken for dinner (all that was in the house), and I can't cope with odd numbers

I also really dislike my new body spray, the smell of it does not apeal (does not smell that womanlike)

I have a question:
apart from using a grabber to pick things up from the floor, does anyone else do anything else or use anything else to pick things up?

don't get me wrong, the grabber's great (I love how it makes my life easier), but lately it's done so little for the pain

I need something more sturdy I think

@raging vortex

I try to avoid lifting, pushing and/or pulling anything over 10-15 lbs ... But on those rare instances when I do have to pick something up (especially if it's on the floor), I go slow and steady (especially when coming back up) ... I listen to my body and if it begins protesting too much, I stop and assess before trying again ... Sometimes I use my cane and/or my little lightweight folding chair as a prop or brace to help me with leverage ...

The Fibromyalgia check in thread #4

Sometimes I ask for assistance (if it's available) ... Sometimes I just leave whatever it is laying there until I feel I'm up to the challenge ... I know that probably wasn't too much help, I guess, but I want you to know you are heard, understood and supported ... It's sad and frustrating when I feel I'm not being listened to or understood.

Raging Vortex, if what you want to pick up is in the middle of the room could you use your foot to push is closer to something you can use to help get back up?

Pfrog, I'm with you. There are times I just say eff it and leave whatever on the floor.

Fibro fog has taken over my life this week. I walked by something I was looking for SIX times yesterday before I saw it.

I guess it's not so much the going down (though that's extremely painfull), it's the coming up

Well, THAT Pain has returned again ... The SOB!

I hope it doesn't last two months like it did last time!

At least I had a respite from it, albeit a short one (about 2.5 weeks)!

I'm going to try to cope and deal with it a little better this go round, but ...

It's going to be a challenge, I know!

ME TOO! And it wasn't even the shoulder- I was just so restless and couldnt find a comfortable position.
I had joint replacement surgery on my cmc(thumb) joint last April. After 6 months it was amazing- zero pain and pretty good dexterity. Now this past week it has started to ache the exact same way it did presurgery and I feel like my hand is weak and clumsy again. What gives?:

Yep, lots of weather-associated pain for me too. Anybody find warmth, like getting under the covers or a water bottle, helpful?

Oh, Yes!

Heat's definitely helpful.

Then I'll have a hot flash and be like ...

I think if men had to go through what women go through that human beings would have ceased to exist thousands of years ago!

Trav, heat most definitely helps me. I've been known to crank the temp down on the A/C so I can wrap up in a heated throw to help with the pain.

I'm honestly not sure.

I think if I'm having a bad day with the pain, I'm having a bad day with the pain. no amount of heat really does anything

today could be better as far as pain goes, but not the worst it's been this week

I am going back to the pain management doc tomorrow-he's the one I started with for the sjogrens and arthritis. He had given me a shot in the shoulder before we knew it was a rotator cuff tear. I am going to ask to temporarily increase my pain medication to get through pt and so I can sleep. I only take a small amount (5mg twice a day) so I cant imagine it would be an issue. I am going on my third day of only having been able to sleep for two hours. I started out in the bed-then recliner-sofa and back to the recliner. I had a pt eval and start it tomorrow. Everyone I have talked to that has pt for rotator cuff says the pain is worse with pt.
