Chopping veggies or cutting meat. Reaching above my head, carrying groceries, putting on my bra, repetitive motions involving my shoulders. Right now aside from the autoimmune arthritis I have what they called deltoid tendonitis. I personally feel like it could turn into a rotator cuff issue. I just got cortizone injections which are doing nothing. I have been doing my own PT after looking up stuff on the internet. I was seriously afraid that when I saw my doc on the 17th he was going to refer me to PT. I have nothing against it, I had my joint replaced in my thumb and it helped, but when I have pain especially doing tasks and the shots do not help, I cant see the point of PT. I do have a super small script for a pain medicine that I hold off on taking until I feel like I am dying. I do not know if that is a good thing or a bad thing but I do not know what else to do.

My answer changes from day to day along with my pain level.

On bad days everything hurts. I swear even my hair and nails hurt. On average days stairs (up or down) are a problem.

Standing
Forget stairs
Shopping in a mall or anyplace that doesn't have a cart
Even reading causes pain

Just everything it seems, my pain varies from chronic, acute and intermittent. Recently I tripped in the backyard carrying my 16 lb dog (watered the grass earlier and it dark and my dog ran off). Now my left foot hurts, my hands, the bottoms of both feet, and both knees hurt a little bit. When I sit and type at work my lower back starts hurting after 1.5-2 hours. Intermittently I have TMJ pain. Chronically I have Right knee pain after sitting awhile and walking actually helps. I’m not good at being inactive and have been walking less the past few days since fell 2 days ago.

I’ve been suffering from chronic pain for nearly 20 years now. Nearly everything I do causes pain that’s why I’m on very strong pain meds after many years of suffering. I also suffer from regular nausea & vomiting too sometimes. I’m due to have some CT scans done of my stomach & chest soon. Hopefully that may answer some questions. I also had a hip replacement last year & am on the waiting list to have the other one done. My body is detiorsting from chronic osteoarthritis.

I’m in my mid 50s but know people in their 80s that can do far more than me. I’m very lucky that my husband is my Carer. Don’t know how I’d survive without him.

I wish everyone on this thread some relief from their chronic pain. I sincerely wish all of you the best!

I’ve been feeling like this a lot these days. The tidal waves of depression are compounding my chronic pain problems. I can’t do anything that I would really enjoy, physically. I’m grateful that I can at least still go for a walk I love being out in nature. Not necessarily with the frantic race “ out there “. Why is everybody in such a hurry ? My whole body aches but it’s mainly my lower back.
I never know when I’m going to make the “ wrong move “ that will trigger extreme pain. I’ve been through it all....... that’s why I’m so tired. No energy.
I see people in their 80’s doing things I can only dream of. But then again, who knows how they “ really feel “. I’m just tired . I know they’re a lot of people who have it way worse than me , but that is little consolation to my body. Sorry for the rant.

I am sorry you suffer with nausea

worst feeling in the world... I mean it probably isn't, (and I've experienced worse), but given the choice- throw up or feel nausea, I wouldn't choose the nausea
