Well the other day when those storms came through we had very heavy rain and wind... 2 Tornados hit Nashville area.. 25 confirmed died, more have since passed in the hospitals
It’s like a war zone, it’s so hard to wrap my head around what’s happened. Homes lost , business’s destroyed. Tennessee is the Volunteer state and it truly is.. people are just helping in any way they can, people are going in with food trucks , feeding anyone in need for free, water, clothing, hotels are taking in displaced families for free.. there’s no race or political bullshyt. People just helping each other. Why must it take a tragedy to bring people from all walks of life together ?? My pain is awful but I have a home, food to eat , Ive not lost any loved ones. I’m grateful __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

Did any of you ever lose friends over your chronic pain issues and illnesses?
Like they quit calling, coming around or inviting you places? If so, how did you cope and deal with that? Sort of feeling like a defective reject at present. When the heart, mind and body are all hurting at the same time ... Sometimes it's just too much! |

I wrote a novel and thankfully deleted it and saved you from reading a mess
I’ve been on both sides .. friends dropped out of my life because I was overwhelming them with chronic pain, so many doctors and tests. I was like an emotional vampire. I was so hurt and mad as they had backed away. I simply was too much.. once I got a T and he helped me understand , I got it On the other side one friend that did stick with me..she lost her husband, she needed a lot of support but after a year she was still a mess, texting me around the clock , angry if I didn’t respond right away. I told her she needed a T to help her process her grief.. Nope ! I finally had to take a big step back. I feel bad but she was overwhelming me.. she always wanted to come over. When I’m really hurting I simple want to be left alone. We check on each other if bad storms are hitting, we sent each other a birthday wish on Facebook. A random text here and there.. Both sides of the coin just freaking sucks Best advice I have is be kind to yourself __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

Thank you, @~Christina ...
There was a little group of us at work that used to hang out - fishing, road trips, game nights, etc. then it just suddenly stopped. No reason was given and when I tried to talk with them about it, I'd get that blanket response that makes you feel like you aren't seeing things exactly how they are but you know in your heart that it is exactly what you're seeing. Anyway, yesterday one of them was discussing an upcoming road trip they're about to go on and asked another co-worker to come along. It was like I wasn't even sitting there - which just kinda stung and opened up an old wound I thought had already healed. So, I came home and had me a good little crying jag, then I got mad as hell and went through the house and yard and took everything they'd ever given me, drove it up to the dump and tossed it - just like they tossed me! Who needs their bull@#$%! tokens anyway - or even them for that matter! I'm starting to settle back down now and will definitely take your advice about being kind to myself to heart. Thanks! |

Yeah, I know that hurts but I also think with anger can come some clarity.

(*(*(*(*pfrog*)*)*)*)
Fibro and CFS have cost me any kind of social life. As far as I know no one has stopped being friends with me because of either, but I don't go out. I don't make plans to do things with people because I'm too friggin' tired to do anything after work or on weekends. Does that make sense? |

It makes perfect sense, @lizardlady!
I always joke that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak ... But, oh how my heart still wants to be able to go and do all the stuff I used to be able to go and do. I did find a therapist, and am going to work through some of the more darker & hurt places. I'm also asking them to help me with my medical anxiety so I can get myself in to be seen by a rheumatologist. Y'all keep your fingers crossed for me, and hopefully I'll find some relief physically and emotionally! Again, your and @~Christina's sharing, support and advice is most appreciated! |

Dear @lizardlady & @~Christina ...
Just want y'all to know that I will be sending extra good thoughts & prayers your way during this Corona Virus thing. I know that y'all are most likely on immunosuppressants which, no doubt, adds another layer of concern for you. Here's hoping all of us stay healthy while this thing runs its course! , Pfrog! |

Well my insomnia has been dreadful for weeks now. I just drugged myself to sleep last night, 12 hours! which is great but ..... Between the Fibro and PsA I almost had to call my husband to help me out of bed I was so stiff

Glad you got a good night's sleep @~Christina! Also glad you were able to get out of bed - even if it took a minute!
I will be getting that much needed break I've been wanting but not taking because I'm trying to save my leave. Our University has shut down to bare bones operations on campus proper and I'll be working from home on the days I'm not driving. As of now I'm not scheduled to drive again until next Wednesday. So as bad as everything is with Corona Virus restrictions, there's a silver lining right there! |

Christina, I'm glad you got some sleep even if hubby had to help you up. funny on myself - there are mornings I literally roll of the bed to the floor then use the bed to haul myself to my feet. I suspect it would make a funny video.
Senior management where I work are proving themselves to be the buttheads we knew they were. They sent out an email yesterday that started out talking about how we are all family and how much they care about us. The rest of the message basically said "get your ***** to work." They said if we need to do home visits to call ahead and see if anyone in the house is sick first. CDC is recommending social distancing AND says people can be sick but not have symptoms. Oh yeah, if we can't do a home visit Skype with the family. Most of my clients live below the poverty level. THEY CAN'T FRIGGIN' SKYPE!!!! I don't want to sound like I'm panicking, but I'm afraid to do home visits. I'm afraid of catching this damned virus. |

I would say your fears are justified, @lizardlady!
Too many "responsible" people are being extremely irresponsible about just how serious this is! It's scary. |

The CNN app has a really good article about people who appear healthy, but have conditions like fibro, lupus, RA, who could die if they catch corona. I found myself nodding and agreeing as I read it.

Liz I do not see how they can expect you to do in person visits.. With all the constant stay home , social distancing being on repeat etc etc etc
I know a Teacher that was being told everyone had to come into work to offer phone help.. Numerous teachers called the state. Well now they are going to be allowed to work from home. Call the state and complain. There is no reason to walk into someones home as people can take a couple weeks before showing a symptom , Hell No! to walking into a possible Petri dish. I am sorry your boss's are so ill informed.. __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |
