I am no closer to finding a new chair and one that is less painfull, in fact: I can't even find somewhere near me that does chairs

RV, there's way more to Florida than The Mouse and other theme parks. Gotta agree though. I never understood spending huge amounts of money (tickets to the parks are expensive) to then spend hours broiling in the heat to go on rides. The state has so much variety and natural beauty I have no interest in theme parks.

Last week was my first five day work week in a couple of months. I'm exhausted. Am feeling discouraged today. I felt pretty decent over the summer even though I was working my butt off. I'm not doing the physical stuff I did over the summer, but am exhausted. Iij need to hang in there until next July when I can retire. It's going to be a long haul getting there.

Florida has so much beauty to offer from coast lines to middle of the state. Unlike my rolling Hills of Tennessee, Its as flat as can be. Lol

They have amazing parks and wildlife areas to visit , walking trails, freshwater springs to swim and kayak in.. lots of historical towns with amazing history to be found.

My dad use to take us on day trips to eat at out of the way restaurants and towns, Florida also has some really huge farmer markets and flea markets. Lots of towns full of antiques and crafters of all kinds.

One of my most favorites things to do yearly was the Florida state fair and the Strawberry Festival, both brings in millions of people each year.

So yes people think Florida and they think of the Rat or Universal studios, Epcot and Sea World and of course beaches...... But Florida has so much more to offer than that to offer.

Well and the mosquitoes are the state bird LOL !

Ditto what Christina said about Florida. There's so much natural beauty here. There's also so much history here from the cigar makers in Ybor City (part of Tampa) to the Spanish history of St. Augustin to Hemingway's house on Key West. Combine that with the incredible number of different types of people it's a great place to live.

Christina, I here ya about the pain the afternoon storms bring though. The change in pressure with the storms is a major trigger for me.

Key West & Hemingway's home (and his famous six toed cats) are on my bucket list of things to do when I retire.

I hope I am physically able to when I get there.

Maybe one of those old pfart carts to help me get around? I want mine to have turbo though! The ones in the stores are too slow!

I'm in the Uk, and their are at least 4

would I want to travel 8 hours on a plain just to meet someone dressed up as a mouse? (I'm sorry, but that's basically what you're doing)

they do say don't they, disney world is something you have to do before you die, but I don't know

Pfrog, Key West is a really kewl place to visit. If you go you have to go to Mallory Square at sunset. People gather there to celebrate the sunset. The comradory is fun. People applaude the sunset. I also recommend one of the tour buses. They take you round the whole island showing you the sights. Then you ca go back to really see the stuff you are interested in. I didn't tour Hemingway's house, but I did get to see some of the multi toed kitties.

Between stress the last few days and changing weather I hurt like h e l l and am exhausted.

It turns out labs weren't 100% conclusive on the discoid lupus, but she highly suspects it so we did a biopsy on one of the lesions yesterday.

I was a brave little trooper ... Hate stuff like that ... !

We also had really good discussion regarding the arthritis in my hip.



If I can wrap my mind around it and work up my courage, steroid injections could help with the pain for now.

Surgery later though ... Much later ... Like after I retire!

She's also very supportive about the ADA Reasonable Accommodation Request and will verify necessity of it if contacted by my employer.

litirally the only things I want to do are to milk a cow and to ride a tractor, and i've all ready been told that it's extremely unlikely they are going to let someone untrained and with no experience milk a cow (cows are big, strong animals that can kick), so I have no chance

plus: I doubt it will for fill me

I mean who goes around saying I've milked a cow. my life is complete

Sorry about that chair, @raging vortex ... They took my favorite one out of the office a few months back and it grieved me right badly.

About milking that cow and riding a tractor, I think those both are honorable items on a bucket list.

I love cows and have toured a dairy farm.

Perhaps a smaller (teaching type farm) could help you fulfill both wishes.

I've got three items on my bucket list for when I retire but am not sure if I'll be able to do them.

That makes me sad too.

Here's hoping that all of us wrestling with debilitating conditions get to do at least one of the things on our bucket lists!

What a week at work it was ...

They're doing construction on our bus yard which makes the walk to our buses twice as far.

Being thoughtful, our supervisors provided rides out to our buses for the three of us that have mobility and health issues.

That lasted all of one day though because some able-bodied asstwit complained that we were being shown preferential treatment.

So the next day our supervisors did an end around this idiot and had the spares bring our three buses up behind the shop for us!

The creative way they got around this jerk impressed the heck outta me!

Probably left the SOB steaming mad too, but naught he could do about it so ha-ha to that!

It's really nice to know someone has your back when the chips are down!

I don't understand people that try to make life more difficult for those who are obviously already having difficulties.

But, to heck with them, let's hear it for those supervisors and spares that are day makers instead of day breakers!

*Spares are employees kept on standby to fill in at a moments notice for any unforeseen emergency that may arise which helps to keep our operations flowing smoothly & with minimal impact!
