Yep growing up every time it got cold enough my father and I just were hysterical about the thought.

My step son lives in Miami, he works for American Airlines and was so bummed he was booked solid to London with a long layover and would miss it , I think his girlfriend found one tho lol

You've heard the phrase "raining cats and dogs?" I was envisioning iguanas raining down!

Fibromyalgia Check-In Thread #5 ...

Well here it is February already!

My birthday is this month. According to the calendar, I'll be 60 years old, but ...

My body feels like that of an 80 year old & my mind feels like that of a 30 year old.

80 - 30 = 50 / 2 = 25 ...

I'll go with that one!

I'll be 25 this month, NOT 60!

Pfrog Math!

Oooooh, I like that kind of math, Pfrog!

I have similar feelings. My body feels ancient and decrepit. In my head I'm in my early 20s. It continues to surprise me when my brain says you can do that and my body says "oh no you can't." (hat tip to Toby Keith)

I think I've mentioned I have chronic fatigue along with fibro. The last week at work was nonstop high stress. I am exhausted this weekend. I sit down and I fall asleep. Had plans to go work at Mom's this weekend. Decided self care is more important. Staying home and pottering around here in between naps.

Speaking of math, @lizardlady & @~Christina ...

On average, how many days a month would you say you miss out on work (or other activities you once enjoyed) because of your condition?

I used to hardly ever call out.

Now I call out at least 2 - 3 times a month because of pain and/or inability to rest well & the resulting fatigue.

The outdoor things I used to love to do are pretty much non-existent now and I sure do miss them a lot.

I have a fantastic boss who lets me work from home on bad days so I don't have to take the day off. If I'm at work and the pain gets too bad I'll let him know I'm leaving to work from home.

Weekends are a whole different matter. I frequently have to spend the weekend rolled in a ball trying to recoup from the week.

What a wonderful boss @lizardlady ... Mine's a good egg too!

He understands the bad days when calling out is a necessity.

I imagine the front that's about to move through Dixie Alley is what's troubling me today, and most likely tomorrow too.

Tomorrow had already been approved as an off day so it really bummed me out to have to call out today too.

It really sucks to want to just jump up and go like I used to only to have my body say nope, not today!

Thanks for sharing and letting me share - it makes it all a little more bearable.

,
Pfrog!

I didn't know it but my body did. There is some kind of weather system trying to move through here. There's not a part of me that doesn't hurt

Yep, being able to sh as re with people who understand helps

Hey ladies ~

I took time away from PC , much needed. I realized I have really been slacking on self care.

I really limited my being online, ignored the news as much as possible, of course a lot has happened but I went to some specific sites for simple short condensed info.

I’m surprised sleep has been a struggle my whole life but I’m getting regular sleep now, I hope it lasts awhile as it helps me stay in front of the pain easier.

I’m keeping a mood /activity chart. Like today I have spend 3-4 hours total online . Up and down a lot doing useful things around the house , then pop online for a bit.

Hopefully I will maintain good sleep and daily selfcare is a must.

I have started Xeljanz 5mg twice a day. I have some nausea for about an hour after taking it , with food or without it’s the same. I hope it’s something that will fade given time.

My pain has really been pretty awful these front move through one right after another , our town got hit with a tornado this week , totally leveled a few homes, trees down and fences destroyed. Luckily no serious injuries. Dozens of cars totalled from trees or just picked up and dropped blocks away. We just had wicked wind and heavy thunderstorms at my home. We got lucky again.

Gentle hugs

Glad you know when to put those brakes on, @~Christina, I'm still working on that.

All this bad news isn't good for our states of mind either, that's for sure!

Hope the Xeljanz helps and the nausea fades.

So glad you got lucky on the tornado too! ... Those things are awful scary!

Gentle Hugs To You Too!

Hi all.

Good for you for self care Christina. Man oh man do I hear you about fronts moving through! Glad you are okay from tornado.

Funny story on myself related to recent storms. A wicked storm went through here Thursday night. The weather alarm went off on my phone in the wee hours of the morning. I think I've posted about how exhausted I am. Alarm went off and I rolled over, pulled the covers up and went back to sleep. I figured if I was gonna die I could do it just as well in my sleep.

I watched that wicked mess on radar, was ugly ! I’m glad you weathered the storm okay

Well we have been in the 60’s and raining for well over a week only one day was half dry.

Well last night wicked storms came blowing through and another tornado in town, had one just a tad over a week ago!! This is madness.

So far no deaths reported, a dairy farm was destroyed, many homes damaged some unlivable, cars totaled, trees down, entire town had no power , I think it’s been mostly restored now thankfully

So over a week of 60’s and it will be 20 by morning and feel like 10

My body is very unhappy

My husband has his MRI’s and angiogram tomorrow so I’m very stressed.

Breathe dummy !!

Gentle hugs ~
