Hon, I think I understand your fear of being under anesthesia. Years ago I had carpal and ulnar surgery. Laying on the table, getting strapped down I started to panic. It was a good thing they'd already given me a shot to start knocking me out because I was bound and determined I was getting off that table and getting the h e l l out of there! Could you talk to your surgeon about your fear? Maybe the could load you up on a sedative ahead of time? I had oral surgery ugh a few years ago. The doc had me take valium the night before and again the day of the surgery. I was so loopy by the time he operated I didn't give a rat's kitty bitty b-hind what he did. |

Thank you for lending an ear, @lizardlady.
I don't think sedatives help with triggers, trauma and dissociation. No matter how bad the hip has gotten, nor the chronic pain associated therewith, my mental health is what matters most to me. As far as the surgeon goes, the referral is in but I haven't heard from them, so no appointment scheduled yet. All I can do is continue to express my concerns to my psychologist and PCP and hope they understand. If Social Security wants to deny me disability because I won't have surgery then I'm not sure what I'll do. I do need to find a way to stop all this worrying though, that's for sure! |

yesterday my leg went on me.
ow, it hurt. for ages I generally thought it was broken. the pain was immense and I remember thinking oh wow, is this level of pain even possible then this morning my kneck and back went too. together. double ow much? it is lucky I am not doing anything today. yesterday I had a dvd of the box set of malcolm in the middle, and I think as soon as I am done here, I am just going to sit and watch that (if I can actually hobbble over to the dvd player to put the disk in) that said: my attention span is very very short, give it 5 minits and I'll probably get bored of it. ah well: tough. it's not like I have energy to do much else |

Somewhere a little better with my thinking this morning, @lizardlady.
Worse-Case Scenario seems to be a default setting of mine! Most likely everything is going to work out just fine, and ... All of this worry & upset will have been for naught! Again, much appreciate you lending a listening ear and offering encouraging words of support. |

Pfrog, I believe worse case scenario is not unusual given your current situation. Something that, some times, helps me is to focus on what I can control in the situation. The feeling of being in control of something can help me get a handle on the panic. I will confess that it doesn't always work. I'll be freaked out with worry and tell myself to sod off with talk about control.
Hang in there hon. |

I managed 2 (2) full episodes of malcolm in the middle, before getting bored of it.
been updating my music collection this afternoon with some new stuff (old stuff, but stuff I don't have). always makes me feel better because you can never have enough music. and then I'm going to have dinner pain level is.. well, got me thinking that I need to trade my body in for a newer model. at my age, that's a shocking thought- but I suppose bad management = bad pain. simple as that |

RV, I've said for years if my body was car or would've been recalled to the factory years ago
My left leg has two kneecaps today. The swelling from the arthritis makes it look like I have a second kneecap below the regular one. Sitting with my feet up and a hot pack on it to ease the pain. I know common wisdom is to use cold to reduce swelling, but the heat feels good. |

I'm all for going with what feels good, @lizardlady.
Hope everything eases up for you here in a day or so. That move was a lot of intense physical exertion. It's sad and a shame that most people do not take into consideration another human's struggle. If more people were just a wee bit thoughtful, it would be such a tremendous help! |

The weather in my area has been a lot of rain. I actually like rain and find the sound relaxing. However my immune system and autoimmune diseases/rare diseases flare up with rain (triggered). This week started out very difficult emotionally. Monday, I was diagnosed with another autoimmune disease. I’ve gained about 15 lbs over a course of three months...three months of me taking steroid medications daily. Prior to gaining the 15 lbs I walked and hiked regularly. Now that the temperatures are very hot in my area it’s harder for me to walk or hike. Hot temperatures cause my multiple autoimmune diseases/rare diseases to flare up as well. Many of the fitness centers that had indoor walking trails and a track have had them removed.

Good morning, @Cocosurviving ...
The struggle for exercise is real when it comes to living with conditions that cause flare ups and chronic pain. I bought one of these little under the desk floor pedal machines ... At first I thought they were a joke, but after doing a little bit of research, I discovered that they are legit and used in a lot of different medical settings for rehab and recovery, circulation, strengthening, etc. I've been doing 30 minutes a day for a little over a month now and, amazingly, 6 lbs. has disappeared since I began. Prices range anywhere from $20's right on up to $100's. The model I got was right at $50. I do miss my nature walks and hiking at the local botanical garden though. I now get my nature fix by watching the birds at the bird feeder while enjoying a cup-a-joe. Hope some of that info is helpful. |

I sat down and considered the three probable outcomes. I still don't have much control over any of that, but ... After reviewing those, I started working on a budget that can get me through the least favorable outcome. I do have control over that, and then, if one of the other two options (especially the best one) pan out, I will be ahead of the game! Again, appreciate your words of wisdom, encouragement & support! |

I woke Monday, August 10th feeling very fatigue. I ate a bowl of applesauce and took my immune supplements/vitamins/asthma medications. I received notifications regarding environmental toxins.
Mold was high yesterday and dust was extremely high. I walked three times, 15 minutes each time. I was able to eat twice. It’s been hard to get myself to leave my residence to go run necessary errands. My car tags are a few days past due. I’m going to try to find the energy and motivation to go later today. I can’t get them online because I already withdrew the cash out last month. Overall my day started off rocky and turned decent. __________________ #SpoonieStrong Spoons are a visual representation used as a unit of measure to quantify how much energy individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses have throughout a given day. 1). It’s raining 🌧 again which I know rain is good/important. I just wish it did not cause me to have flare ups. I’ve been battling a fever since early this morning. I finally ate a bowl of cereal to take some Tylenol. I don’t have much of an appetite. Soup sounds good right about now.
