today I have to write my shopping list for next week. I have been craving cola all day, so that's defenetly going on my list, as is my meals for next week and some treats too

as for the rest of the day: nothing. it is hot here today so have my fan on and my cooling spray beside me. think I'll be okay (as in, not get too hot)

I have my shopping order to look forward to today, but that is about it

I should probably get someone out to have a look at my leaking sink, but not today. I honestly can't be bothered.

turns out the sink was easier to fix than I intended, and it got done yesterday so no more leaks on to the floor which is good (so no more change of me slipping)

showered today.

body didn't provide much for me in the way of movement so it was quite painfull. ugg

needed too though: was quite incontinent this morning. came out of the blue, just like that.

no real plans for today: just have mcdonalds later which I am looking forward too.

it is cooler today too. I still have my fan on, but not sure I am going to need the cooling spray today

yesterday I had a mcdonalds. it was lovely, in fact: the best meal I've had all week (sad really, but that's how it is)

feeling mainly depressed today, but the good bits are that it's a lot cooler (the heatwave is weakening which is great news for my pain), and I've done some self-care. eat fruit salad, drink water, clean clothes..

I have 2 wasps in the house today.

it is very disturbing, because I am alergic to wasp stings (I go in to shock)

thankfully, they are behind a closed door (I made sure they stayed in the lounge with the window open so they can fly out)

it is still scary though

had a shower today, my fruit salad, currently drinking some flavoured water (orange and peach flavour)

feeling okay (with the obvious acception of the wasps)

update on the wasp situation: they are still very much alive!.

when I walked in to the lounge this morning, I couldn't see them or hear them, but when I turned on the light I saw that they were hiding in the light switch!. I ran out their as fast as I could go. such a scary situation!. and I generally thought they had gone yesterday

new week, same ****

plans for today: nothing, and unless anything changes, it's that all week.

Yesterday: Monday, I felt very fatigued and did a lot of sleeping throughout the day. I woke up at 11 PM CST and started being productive.
I’m very productive in the wee hours of the morning. I did some cleaning, walking my dog for 20 minutes, cooked dinner for this evening, walked 45 minutes and took a shower. I double checked the time of the autoimmune diseases webinar today. It starts at 12 EST. I’m going to practice a language lesson, make my to-do-list for the week and a food menu for the week. With me having insomnia my basic sleep 💤 routine is the same as when I worked graveyard shift.

the wasps are gone.

yesterday it rained, and of course: wasps hate the rain (wasps are also quite stupid)

so they flew out of the window soaking their wings

ah well: at least they are gone, and I think that's the last I'll see of any for a while (we're meant to be getting early fall storms!)

nothing today, though I probably don't need to say that. this is my life we're talking about.

I posted a version of this in the current events forum. I wanted to get input from folks here since y'all have an understanding of my fear related to this damn virus.

I work in the school system as a counselor for at risk kids. When the schools moved to distance learning in March we started providing services virtually. Well, students are going back to school. The agency I work for is fine with us continuing to "see" kids virtually. I hit three high risk categories.

Part of me wants to continue virtually. Kids are walking germ factories and have horrible personal hygiene.

An equally sized part of me wants to go into the schools and see my kids face to face. I haven't seen them in person for five months.

Other considerations....
Staff at some of the schools is terrible about social distancing and wearing masks. Kids are not required to wear masks. My state is a current hotbed for the virus. Because of the shutdown the agency is not meeting its contract requirements which puts our jobs at risk. We need to make contact with school personnel to generate referrals and income.

Here is the plan I've come up with. Tell me what you think. The first couple of weeks of any new school year are crazy. This year is worse than usual. I've been reaching out to school contacts by phone and email to let them know I am available. I plan on physically going to the schools the second week of classes. The chaos should be somewhat under control by then. I'll assess whether kids and staff are social distancing, wear masks etc. If things look safe I'll continue school visits. If not it's back to virtual. If things look outlandishly noncompliant I'm going to turn around and leave the building.

Sorry this is so long. Thoughts anyone?

If I could continue fulfilling requirements by being virtual, I would take that route @lizardlady.

In our state, a lot of schools that reopened had to shut back down immediately due to a sudden surge in cases.

That's why I'd stick to virtual if at all possible because once exposed and infected, there's no undoing that.

You mentioned being at high risk on three levels, and I think your health is most important

Tough decision for sure, but reducing risk of exposure is paramount!

I have just finished responding to a survey for a friend's course she is doing

it really tested my patience... it was over 100 questions, and by question 10 or 11, I was like why am I doing this?

but I did do it and so now she has my response

today it is raining, and trust me, we really need it after the heatwave we've been having (yes guys, england has heatwaves too. lol)

doing.... absolutely nothing

currently on the forum, emails open, listening to music
