I have been sitting on this for like 2 years. I was referred to a med MJ doc by my pain management doc and I qualify for medical MJ. I have no experience with it and went on the state website and uploaded the documents and all that. It says it could take 2-4 weeks for my card and I have a one on one scheduled at a chosen dispensary because you cant just go get pot without the consult which is a good thing in my case. I have a small rx for as needed pain meds....5mg 1 time a day. I always hold off on them and then it gets excrutiating and then I feel screwed because I can only take one pill and not everyday. I do not want to be on opiates forever either. I do not think its a good long term option for me.
I know that I do not want to smoke or vape pot. I want to investigate all the other options. My concern now is the coronavirus shutdowns. They havent said the state is completely shut down but I know that the MJ department is non essential and I just have this feeling that its going to take a long time. If it gets close to the 26 I will have to ask my doctor for a refill and she better not ask me to come in in order to get it because she is located in a hospital (my brother is a nurse there) and I know for a fact they are dealing with very sick people. Who has experience with anything similar to this? Anyone have success stories. Please share advice, support and your stories. XXXOOO __________________ "I carried a watermelon?" I really like nonTHC gummies. I dont like benzoes. I dont use it for pain, tho I have shoulder pain (frozen shoulder). Better times are coming and you will be able to test out medical mj once the corona crisis is over. I so wish my friend would use it more for her chronic pain, but instead her spine develops hairline cracks from hydrocodone. I think you are on the right track, Sarah to try to explore this. I know you will go slowly and keep us apprised. Thanks for this. As we grow older many of us have more pain issues. Hugs!

I’m replying only to share my experiences with medical cannabis etc.
I have multiple chronic illnesses autoimmune illnesses and go to several specialists. With my fibromyalgia all the medications on the market that are traditionally prescribed I *declined*. Why? Because all of them had side effects that stated the medications could increase depression or cause SI in individuals that have a history of depression. My rheumatology specialists suggested CBD oil. I tried that and it did absolutely nothing for the level/severity of pain that I experience. I was walking with a cane at this point. I signed up for newsletters from national organizations and started learning/researching. I started explaining to my providers what I needed from them. I started asking about specify vitamins and immune support supplements. Also because I have multiple chronic illnesses certain medications I am allergic to. There are medications, foods and environmental toxins that trigger some of my other autoimmune illnesses. I was desperate and decided to get my cannabis license months after my rheumatology specialists suggested it. I was approved in May 2020 and the process was not stalled because of Covid19. In the state of Oklahoma dispensaries were deemed *essential*. I first tried a pain relief rollover ball. My experience was the THC pain roller ball had to be applied generously to the parts of my body in pain. Which the THC roller ball did not last long. Financially it was not in my budget. I then tried gummies ( gluten free). My experience was the gummies do work for me but the put me to sleep, I started cutting them. Next, I missed things up and purchased gummies and cannabis to smoke. What made me decide to try smoking the cannabis was the price. There are several apps that folx can download and find daily deals. The really good deals were on cannabis tree that is smoked. I purchased a rolling machine, papers and tips. I was not able to roll and I watched video tutorials. I got frustrated, went to a local smoke shop and purchased a smoking pipe. Lol 😂 I had to write down the instructions on how to use it. I purchased a more elaborate pipe. __________________ #SpoonieStrong Spoons are a visual representation used as a unit of measure to quantify how much energy individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses have throughout a given day. 1).
