Hi Tech Support- Spacing between paragraphs is not working properly. It's happening on my posts and I've noticed a few others' posts have the problem, too. When I hit my space bar to allow for one space between paragraphs then post, there are 2 or 3 spaces between the paragraphs.

Thanks for looking into this.

Yes, I've noticed this too. I presumed it had something to do with my laptop. I recently did a clean install of Windows 10, as a result of which everything I previously had on my computer was wiped clean. But maybe not?

Exactly - I thought I was hitting something the wrong way or that my computer was screwing up, but yeah - I'm seeing the problem on other posts. Let's see.....

test...test...

Yep, it's still happening. Double-spacing what should be a single space.

Hmmm. Seems ok (using firefox on android).
Question : You mention using the space bar - did you mean the return key?

It doesn’t happen on my phone (Safari), but it does on my computer. I think it’s Explorer—a browser issue.

LOL, Am I using an old term from the days of typewriters ?

Isn't the "enter" key on a computer keyboard the "return" key?

The space bar (to me) is the long bar (bottom center) on the keyboard.

Yes, enter = return (or carriage return, as used to be the case, when hitting that little lever would send the bit with the paper hurtling to the left...).

Space bar is the long key, but I never use it to set paragraphs - I use return.

Got it

Okay, I use enter to set paragraphs, too.

Yeah, because the space bar goes horizontally (to space words), but the enter/return goes vertically.

I think so, anyway.

Oh! I'm realizing that I used the wrong term in the OP. Well, anyway...the amount of space in between each paragraph is too big. It's double or triple spaced, instead of single-spaced.

I'm using Chrome and see it.
Like Seesaw mentioned, it's happening on some of my posts, but not others

Another test
test 1xreturn

test 2xreturn

test chrome

Hmmm. No funny stuff there either.

I did see a lot of folks complaining about the same thing in google docs/gmail - have you changed any of the appearance settings for the browser?

Now, I'm seeing it weirdly on your post - same thing - too much space in between your paragraphs. I haven't changed anything on my computer, but I've suspected that it has a virus because it's been doing some odd things.

Are you seeing it on all the paragraph spacings, or just the one after 'test 2xreturn' - that was intentionally 2 returns/enters, as I wanted see if I'd get 3 lines instead.

Beyond that, it must be poltergeists. Or aliens.

Same here. It works fine on my safari iPad, but the double enters happens on my work PC. I'm using win 7 and firefox browser btw.

I don't think it's virus, because I have antivirus. I don't think it's the computer fault too. I think it must be a bug from the server.

Yeah, it's still happening to me and has been since I first posted this thread. It doesn't seem to matter which browser people are using. It might tend to happen when people are using a PC.

Is anyone in tech support seeing this thread, or do I need to report this somewhere else?

We've looked into this issue and it's very hard for us to understand or troubleshoot given that it happens inconsistently, and only for a few members. We have made zero changes on the server-side of things that would've caused this to suddenly start happening.

We'll keep looking, but I'm not confident we'll be able to figure this one out right away...

It just happened to me on a couple of posts in the current events social group forum. I using a PC with Windows7 and IE as my browser.

Testing to see if it happens here too.

Am also not able to get smilies to appear in posts

Happened in this post too. I just noticed that when I open a message box to post a reply the font box already says "veranda" and the size is set at 2. Normally those are blank.
