So, A big part of why I am on this forum all together is because I have noticed a severe lack of personal relationships in my life. Personal connection, conversation, relating to others... All of these things are strongly lacking in my life.

So to my question. Keeping the above in mind, I like to respond to most of the posts in a thread that I have created. I quote the author and then share my thoughts... I like this, but it does take up a lot of space.

I am very self-conscious even in a digital environment. Am I doing something wrong? The last thing I want to do is annoy.

To me, your posts come across as thoughtful and helpful. I don't think there's any limit on participation here on PC. If a poster wanted to, they could block you from their view. Though I'm not suggesting they need to do so. Don't be so hard on yourself BonsaiGuy

sometimes it's not even about how many people reply

it's about how they reply and what they say.

I know I'd rather one person flooding my thread with useful replies than I would many people with not much to say

I do not think there is a single issue with what you post or how much or how often.

The more you post, & reply to other members' posts, the more recognized you will become. My impression is that at least some new members post a couple of times, & if they don't get a lot of replies, they leave. One just has to dive in & "make the fur fly", as the saying goes! So just keep doing what you're doing!

Being a useful contributor is a good thing. I like to give and get replies. We all have something we can contribute to each other.

I am also a fan of your blue bird.

I have been here for ages & most of the time I do exactly what you describe.....quote then reply. I do it mostly if it is a comment that seems like I would respond IRL. Otherwise I thank & hug to acknowledge that I have read it & appreciate their response.

I do that of FB too. I respond to most replies people make personally if it seems like a reply would be appropriate if I were speaking to them in person.
