Is there any way possible I could remove a few threads of mine? I've heard varying answers by members on here.

If you send a message to a moderator they will gladly close them out for you. Though if you mean literally erase, I don't think they do that unless the thread is outside guidelines.

no ............you............cant remove your thread but you can ask one of the moderators to do so.

the reason you cant do it on your own is because other people post in your thread. when you remove your thread you are removing other peoples posts too.

If you want one of your threads removed you will have to contact one of the moderators who will look at the thread to see whether its possible to remove the thread.

there is a limit to how many requests for removing threads a member can do...

found in FAQ ( https://psychcentralforums.com/faq.p...q_editingposts )

How can I edit my own post? How can I delete my own post?
You can edit your post or delete it for up to 4 hours after posting your entry. After that time, please contact a moderator (by reporting your own post) to have it edited or deleted.

Why do we limit your time to edit or delete a post? We have found that, in the past, some people were using this feature to "change history" in a thread, which resulted in confusion and member upset.

We will only delete up to a maximum of five (5) posts or threads for any single member or account. Please do not ask us to remove more than this limit.

Sadveil - much quicker to request for your post to be deleted by clicking on the red triangle on your post itself.

(Just as a side - there are only a certain number of posts you can request to have removed).

It's one thing to ask that one's own post be removed but another, it seems to me, to ask for an entire thread to be removed because that involves deleting other people's posts. Sometimes people took a lot of time to respond to posts and then wake up one morning to find all their responses have been deleted.

I don't understand why PC removes entire threads unless they are violating guidelines. I don't think members should be able to ask to delete entire threads.

Click the Report button in the bottom left corner of the post you would like to have removed. It will send a notification to the moderators. Explain that you would like a post removed.
There is a 5 post limit on removals.
If you made the first post in a thread (OP) that you would like removed the entire thread is removed.
Again, there is a limit of 5 removals. This doesn't reset.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

We remove entire threads at the original poster's request because that is what most members want. Imagine having a thread out there that you posted once, but a year later, is causing you anxiety or upset, but there's no way to remove it? That would be very upsetting to many members. (There's no way to keep the replies, since many quote the original post, not to mention replies without a post to reply to would not make a lot of sense.)

In short, while it's not ideal and it doesn't happen very often, members do have a right to remove a limited amount of their posts and threads.
