For some reason I keep getting notifications that I have been mentioned. Please give us a way to turn this scourge off.

If not just this one extremely annoying thing - can one turn off all notifications?

I don't know if there is a way to block the mentions or not, but you could do is this: either type in directly under your forum name or where it says "updates" under your forum name, you could type in all caps, if you wish, NO MENTIONS, TY or whatever conveys your thoughts, staying within the community guidelines.

oh, I like this!

the mentions constantly annoy me, and everything else (like friend requests and private messages), I get notified about anyway by email, so it's mot like I need an onsite prompt

I guess part of the reason we have onsite notifications is that not everyone chooses to be emailed about these things (which begs the question why we don't get emailed when we're mentioned, hmm.)

but an option for those of us who want too to turn notifications off is a good idea
