This is a small thing. But I've noticed that, at least in some cases, the number of years it says we've been members (in our posts below our avatars) does not match the number of years that have elapsed since we joined. In my case, for example, it says I've been a member for 3 years. But since I joined in October of 2015, I presume I would be a 4 year member now. I saw one member where it said the person had been a member for 5 years. But when I counted up from the month & year they joined it appeared to me they were actually a 7 year member. So I wondered if this was something that can / should be changed? Thanks.

I think they are badges! Or like work anniversaries. You dont get an anniversary gift for every year you work, but for designated years, like 5, 10, 15, etc. Otherwise you have to use your math skills to calculate your actual time of participation.
I am not advocating either way for a change in the badges, i am just explaining what i think they are now. Plus advocating for people using math(s) |

Everyone explains it well and I think it’s correct.
I have a pin from my work place that says 10 years but its actually been 14. I likely will get one when I hit 15. I also have a second side job where I am on my 5th year. I have a pin from them that says 3 years. I’ll get a new pin when 5th year is over. |

Yes, the badge only signifies those years we have an award for. The badge means the member achieved that year, but of course may have more than that (before they get to the next badge).
The awards are granted at: 1 2 3 5 8 10 15 20 __________________ Don't throw away your shot. |
