Hello all.
Just registered as a new member earlier today. Have just been poking around the site, hoping to somewhat familiarize myself with it. Hasn’t gone so well- have just been going around in circles, it seems. I need help concerning the following: FORUMS: are these ongoing chats that posts can continue being added to at anytime, pertaining to issues which fall under a specific title/topic? Also, when adding a post to the Forum Thread- are responses received considered as a chat? Or are chats completely different, if there even is such a section? GROUPS: I am confused- are these different than forums? I was unable to find a listing of them, which I had been able to see on the screen where I began the registration process. If groups and forums are not one in the same- where/how can I pull up the list to join from? SANITY TEST: This also, I had seen on the same screen as the list of groups. I had assumed that I must 1st register in order to take the test. Now that I’ve registered, the option/link for taking it absolutely Is nowhere to be found. I’d as well like to take the PERSONALITY TEST- same issue though. ON-LINE THERAPY: Is there any way to delete this blurb from the middle of the screen? If no,t, so be it. It’s annoying- just thought I’d ask. Sorry so long- I am so glad to have happened upon this site today, and am eager to learn how I may navigate my way around! MANY THANKS to any and all who may respond- I really need some DIRECTION. |

The forums each deal with a specific condition or issue. People can start and post answers to the threads in the forum. In a way it is like an ongoing chat that anyone can participate in but it can take hours before there's a response. It depends on how busy that particular forum is.
There is also a chatroom where people can go to chat in real time but I don't have a link for that. On my screen towards the top there is a button that says chat. When I click on it it says who's in chat and gives the option to open chat in a new window. Groups I have no information on as I've never used them so hopefully someone with more knowledge comes along. As for the Sanity test and other quizzes, on my screen if I scroll all the way up I have what I guess you would call a header that has links to a bunch of things and one of those links is for quizzes. The following link will get you to the tests you are looking for Psychological Quizzes and Tests if you don't have the same page setup as I do and don't have links at the top. I have no idea how one gets rid of the blurb as it doesn't appear on my screen. For what it's worth I'm on a desktop and use the Teal/black skin so maybe that's why mine looks different. I hope some of this was of use. Welcome to Psych Central __________________ I think I need help 'cause I'm drowning in myself. It's sinking in, I can't pretend that I ain't been through hell. https://psychcentralforums.com/groups/ but these are now so hidden that they are almost never used. They are on specific topics, and are not the same as forums. Social group forums are here: https://psychcentralforums.com/social-group-forums/ These too are on particular topics, and they can be quite active. __________________ Now if thou would'st When all have given him o'er From death to life Thou might'st him yet recover -- Michael Drayton 1562 - 1631 |

I use two main buttons in the 3rd main menu line:
New Posts - located in the middle This lists all the new posts since the last time you visited. My Profile - located at extreme left Lists new posts to threads you have posted to yourself. Another thing you may find helpful is located under My Profile, Edit Options, at the bottom of the page: it lets you de-select forums that appear in your "New Posts" list. I exclude Games when i dont feel like playing games. Be sure to hit save at the the bottom of that page to save your selected options. |
