For three weeks in May and June I went through many traumatic events at once. I already had C-PTSD, but now things are worse and I don’t meet my new therapist until next Thursday.

It’s been both easy and hard to hide how much the recent traumas have affected me. I have never wanted to talk about trauma before, but these experiences were different. I feel desperate to talk to someone about what happened to me.

Since being in the hospital, I have been dissociating a lot, sleeping a lot, I have gained weight, and I am just very depressed and alone. I used to engage in harmful behaviors and started to again today. I’ve been isolating, and the hospital gave me severe agoraphobia.

I just don’t know where to begin getting my life back on track.

Hi JanePleet,

I am sorry that you are also having a traumatic time. I don't know if you are aware of Pete Walker and his 13 Steps for Managing Flashbacks. I can't post the link as I am new to this site and it won't allow me to yet. A google search would give you a link. He also has a book which has been a great help to me.

After talking with a GP recently he was honest enough to admit that we can seek treatment but it is likely that we will always have events which trigger setbacks. I know how hard it is for you when unpleasant memories and emotions are brought to the surface.

I know you will get back on track, knowing that this time will pass is one of the things that I say to myself to get some comfort. Best wishes to you

I am sorry you are having a difficult time.

I have recently had an exacerbation in c-PTSD, too. It's overwhelming.

Please stay safe.
