I successfully did a session of brainspotting. Instead of intrusive memory followed by flashback, I'm just getting the intrusive memory. It sucks, but I'm also not dissociating or having panic attacks. I get sad and it hurts my chest, but it's not progressing past that point. It just feels like a terrible memory now.

I have a lot of other issues going on at the present time, but this win... I really needed this. For anyone who was unable to get through EMDR, I encourage you to try this method with a trauma counselor who's qualified to do it. If you haven't tried EMDR, I say try this first. Everyone who's done brainspotting comes back with similar or even better results than I have. Trust me, it's worth looking into.
