Does anyone else have urges to reach out to their abuser? (I'm not diagnosed with CPTSD but regular PTSD but I figured this would fit better here) I don't really know what I want to get out of this, maybe something along the lines of forming better memories with him? I know this probably won't be possible and it's definitely something I shouldn't do, but I really just want to send a simple text to him.

You never want to form better memories with your abuser. They already are giving you a nightmare. You dont give them the time of day or the respect, they dont deserve someone

Hi, Spikes.

Right now I live with two of my abusers, my mother and my sister. Just trying to "get along" with them is torturous. There are times where my sister and I pretend nothing is wrong and my sister and I will talk and joke around and laugh and whatnot, but it'll never change the fact that she's been emotionally, verbally, and physically abusive. I can't get over that. Playing nice makes it worse.

All this is to say that, no, don't reach out to your abuser. Usually the abuser doesn't see what's wrong with what they've done to you. They don't want to hear about it. Not really. Everything is about them. If they apologize, you better believe that the apology is superficial.

Reach out to someone who you know love and cares about you. You'll be better off.
