That is all. Or they're just extremely looked down upon.

Yes. I believe this is absolutely true. I've sometimes thought they could smell it on me! But I suppose it was, perhaps, just the way I interacted with others. Somehow they always knew I was an easy target.

That’s an interesting observation. I suppose it is related to our culture. Strength and success is highly valued. Generally speaking, qualities like extroversion are considered “healthy” and introversion is considered a problem. Anything that doesn’t look like confidence and success is kind of shunned in many social environments.

It's hard isn't it?
Hate is such a strong word though. I sense big reactions from strangers in public when my insecurity is really strong, but possibly because I get agitated with it. |

My mother was very insecure. Obviously I didn't hate her, but her behaviors were a bit difficult to deal with most of my life. It initially rubbed off on me but I got my validation & built up my own level of secure feelings outside of my family.
I don't think that "hate" is really the appropriate word. I think that we usually feel uncomfortable around insecurity & sometimes it is a challenge to respect especially if their behavior effects us in a negative way.....but that doesn't EQUATE to "hate" __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. The word "hate" is as destructive as it is powerful, but my experience of the use of this negative word has largely come from social media. Social media attracts all types, and often those who feel insecure and are brave enough to admit it, often find themselves victimised by those who are intolerant, who are cyber bullies and are highly critical.
The only way to avoid such is to block these people, and find an online site that can help build up those with lack of self-esteem. I find PC here to be a great place for those who feel insecure and find life difficult to cope. Our community is highly supportive and offers kindness and help to those in such need. Long may PC continue. __________________ |

I do believe that those who are perceived to be insecure sometimes bring out the worst in those with a predatory instincts. This is again why I am not a fan of social media. Noone has to admit up front as they join that they are a bully. They just join and then you have to deal with them.

Put 3 people in a room and 2 of them will make a pariah out of the 3rd within 10 minutes.

To me, to have great dislike of someone for being insecure is itself an insecurity, or some kind of personality disorder. It must be! It's certainly not healthy.

Animals sense insecurity or fear in people. Horses especially. I have handled abused stallions & when I walked into the stall of one of them he have me a horsey kiss. It was instant bonding. Even my wild raccoons can sense I have no fear of them & they come right up to me for their food. In the case of animals I think they respond to someone insecure in a negative way because they are uncertain how that insecure or fearful person will react.
I saw & experienced how my mom & dad's insecurities negatively effected my childhood & it was not pleasant to be around. We always think of how we are being treated because of what we are like but hardly ever think of how we are like effects others especially if it is in a negative way. Doesn't mean it is hate.....but it can mean they just don't enjoy being around that personality or it makes them feel uncomfortable __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck.
