My husband of 43 years had a massive heart attack on the 20th of Dec.We kept him on life support for 10 days,he could not be helped.Heart was in bad shape,so we let him go,I couldn't see him suffer any longer.
I always thought if I were ever alone I would not be lonely,I miss him so bad I can hardly stand it.Its scary just knowing he will not be here ever again. We grew up together & I never thought of him as my best friend, but he was.We always trusted each other & had very few problems in our marriage. We promised each other we would not remarry if one of us passed away. Its a promise I will keep.

loulou, I am also a widow. It might not seem like it, but the pain will begin to ease down the road. I'm sorry you had to join this club no one wants to join (widow/widower)

I'm so sorry for your loss, loulou2014 It will take time to heal. Give it time. I'm glad he left this world at peace, at least. I'm sure he's watching and being proud of how you're handling things right now. Don't worry, I'm sure his spirit will always be alive in your heart and in the memories you shared together. Keep writing here if it helps. Sending many hugs to you

Thank you all, today I am cleaning out the kitchen cabinets.Getting rid of the smoking stuff,he was a hoarder. We have multiples of everything.E cigs ,rollers, tobacco,he was a heavy smoker. The whole house tells the tale.It will take months to get the smell out,if ever.I gave up years ago trying to stay ahead of the smoke. Its going to be a long road, but it keeps me busy & not missing him so much.I have his picture on the refrigerator & talk to him,he has to listen now.
