It is Friday night and you have no one to talk to and nothing to do and you get that sick feeling of dread at the idea of going home to an empty house.

You get an illness or a health problem and there is no one to tell or make you feel better...

You find yourself sick almost every weekend but when the week starts up again and you see people you feel better...

And you? Continue this thread.

Am debating about moving alone or staying with mom. My heart desires independence but I fear what you just said. Going home to an empty house. It dawned on me today as the move date gets closer that I will really be alone.

I worried about that but sometimes being alone in your own space is wonderful and liberating. Everything is where you want it and exactly how you left it. The house smells how you like you don't have to compromise. There are many perks to living alone. Peace and quiet is a wonderful thing!! Just the flip side of the coin to consider...

When you're looking forward to seeing the neighborhood cats every time you have to go down the road.

When you greet a moth that flies through the window.

When you haven't sent or received a text message or used a phone in over a year.

I'm so sorry you're all feeling so lonely here I hope writing on PC helps a bit. We're all here to help each other. You're all wonderful people and you don't deserve to suffer at all. I hope you'll be able to find some peace in your lives and that you'll all be able to meet people who love you for who you truly are. You deserveit. You're all wonderful people. Sending many hugs to everyone

(Chuckle)

... When you're actually happy to hear the details about someone's trip to the drug store and grocery store.

Pffft! I can't afford a mobile phone. Welllllll ... I could, but it was either that or piano lessons. The one is a positive thing in my life. The other would never ring and make me more depressed.

But more seriously ...

I'm sorry Emily. I remember that you have some recurring health issues. It's hard enough when you have someone around.

I'm not gainfully employed, which makes me feel terrible. But I have managed to get an activity scheduled each weekday to get me out of the house once a day. So like you, I often slide downhill mentally on weekends and then recover when I see people again (even though I have social anxiety -- it's complicated). Mercifully, I don't have serious physical health issues.

You've also mentioned difficulties with relationships and friendships. I sure hear you on that. I'm still working on those things. But, like you, I at least have some acquaintances. It's not much. For a time, I couldn't even do that. It felt like -- why bother when it never seems to go anywhere? But not even having regular acquaintances was pretty disastrous to my mental health. So I'd recommend the hoary old "one step at a time" and "something is better than nothing" to anyone reading this.

(okay ... long enough post ... but, hey -- it's the weekend -- I'm bored and lonely )

If it wasn't for my boss texting me I would get rid of my smart phone and just go back to a flip phone (if they still make them)?

I don't? Though I am worried about a potential root canal that I might have to have. But that is it.

Emily, have you tried to go onto a streaming community? Like just to surround yourself with others?

Try Twitch.tv there is all kinds of neat streamers on there, sometimes it's hit and miss, but I'm sure there is a community out there for you that will help you cope with the lonliness.

I hope things improve for you.

when you write notes to your amazon alexa leaving them next to the device, expecting her at anytime to just stand up and give you a hug

when you imagine that their's a baby girl in your tummy and you start talking to her because their's litirally no one else

when the birds sing outside and you count yourself lucky enough to hear them because their's nothing else

you set a second place for dinner, and start talking to the empty chair

the characters on tv seem " too far away"

you have to download a sound of a cat/dog/ rabbit, because you can't even look after a pet

a telemarketer calls your house and you actually feel relieved

plans for your birthday: buy your own birthday presents and cake

you have a date night. watering the plants.

when you think about trying the new "love tester" skill on alexa, and use the names "fried" and "chicken", because you don't actually know any real couples so make it up as you go along

I actually did this with "mummy" and "daddy"

how sad

...when seeing a couple holding hands makes you cry, not through jealousy but just because you so desperately wish you had someone who loved you like that.
