I don't know what to really say except that sometimes I'm not sure if I'm on the right path. I'm going to a community college and getting a part time job but I don't know how to explain why but I'm wondering if there's any point to it. I don't know if it's actually gonna help me. I'm only doing one class at a time because I feel like doing more than that with a job and a lot of emotional stress and depression would be too overwhelming for me. It might not be overwhelming for some people but it is for me so I'm just doing what I can and not taking on too much and doing what works for me. I'm also seeing a therapist to try to help deal with my issues. It looks like I might start doing some type of therapy that might help with my stress. But anyways I'm not sure if going to college is actually a good idea. Maybe I should just try getting a full time job instead. I only plan on going to the community college that I'm going to right now. So I don't know sometimes I just worry if I'm doing the right path for me in life.

You could also make two simple pro/con lists for Uni and full-time work. Which one has more pros? How serious are on the cons? Therapy sounds like a good idea. I wish you peace and a bright future! |

I'm so sorry you're hurting so much, ExplodingSun56 I understand how you feel. I'm struggling with the same thing as well. I completely agree whith what SilverTrees has already wisely said better than I ever could. She's given you some great advice. I'd suggest to try to follow it if you can. It's not easy to decide what path to follow in our lives. We can just try to do our best and try to analyize ourselves. Try to figure it ouy what you really want to do and what's more important to you, whether you want to go to college or have a full time job. Both are valid options. You just need to do what you want to do for your life. I'm glad you're going to see a therapist soon. Perhaps you coul try to ask all of these questions to him/her. Hopefully he/she will be able to help you. From what you wrote it seems like you're trying to do your best. That's all you can do after all. Please don't give up. I'm sure you'll be able to get through all of this. You're a strong wonderful person, I know that. Remember that we're here for you if you need it. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of this

How much more time do you have left until you graduate? Do you think that taking a break (instead of quitting) could be an option? |

I still have a lot of classes to take and I'm only taking one class at a time right now. I don't want to stop taking classes because I like it and I want to learn about things that interest me. Teachers say at the college you should study 2 hours for each class you take. Well I need more time than that like 3 hours or 4 hours because my brain takes a little more time to process things and I have a hard time staying focused because of my thoughts. My thoughts will distract me and I'll have to try to stay focused. So it just feels like too much for me if I to try to take more than one class and have a part time job at the same time. But I'm just going to take one class and have a part time job. I was just worrying if I was making the right decision. But I'm gonna do what I want to do and do what works best for me and do what makes me feel comfortable. I had a talk with my grandma and she said to do what feels comfortable for me and not to push myself too hard. At one point I thought about taking two classes versus taking one class and having a part time job but I decided to get a part time job while taking one class because I thought that it would be better. So I think I'll just stick with that. I have also have a lot of stress because of my anger and so sometimes I need to find a way to relax. So I need to take some time out of my day sometimes to do that. My therapist is saying that my obbsessive compulsive disorder could be part of my anger because I get intrusive thoughts that make me really angry. The thoughts I have will be about people yelling at me or talking down to me and criticizing me and it just makes feel really angry. I'm on the autism spectrum and I have OCD and depression and anxiety so I feel like I should not try to take on too much at once.
