I found this Psych Central article really useful. My partner and I had a nice chat about it and how it relates to our own feelings.
Hope it helps others Four Truths about Feelings That Will Set you Free |

Example: I cannot change that I am offended by something you said, but I can control how I respond to you about it. Otherwise I think it's spot on. I feel it's very detrimental to tell people they can control how they feel. In my opinion that's telling them to negate how they feel and not deal with their actual feelings but to ignore them or superimpose some other artificial feeling on top of it. That's just my take. __________________ What if I fall? Oh, my dear, but what if you fly? I realized that I may be nitpicking on the words here a bit. I think it's possibly saying what I'm saying without making the detailed delineation.

Thanks for the link. I had not seen this article before. And I'll hope to have a chance to link members to it when the opportunity arises.
