You deserve better than this. You should take a break, take a warm bath, do some self care and try to recenter yourself. Please remember that you are a great person and you deserve to enjoy a beautiful wedding. |

Thank you, Eskie. YES it has been a test, but right now we're sitting here together prepping and taking care of last minute details, happy as can be that we're about to embark on this great big adventure! We're both committed to this.... it did test us, and I am glad it did in a way.... I feel stronger & more resolute. Those others can just well, I'm gonna forget about all the negativity right now. |

I just want to say a big THANK YOU to every single person who replied on my thread to wish us happiness, to support me through this negative crap just before our wedding and to give me the encouragement I needed to get past it all.
THANK YOU ALL. You are each a wonderful person, and I truly appreciate you! |

Brothers and ex-boyfriends? You are not marrying his brother, and why is an ex even able to get in contact with you? Personally, I don't know if my "ex's" are dead or alive except for one.......and he was one who SHOULD have remained a friend only. That is why I still talk to him. This is YOUR time. It will be YOUR day. Don't let anyone forget that. If they seem like they want to...drive the point home.

Now that you are married and on your honeymoon I will share my story. We had a small (very) wedding. The best man was a bartender and there was like...cases of champagne...for less than a dozen people. And not so much food...like raspberries with whipped cream and wedding cake.
There had been so much drama leading up to our wedding that finally at the little wedding party at the best man's house I drank WAY TOO MUCH CHAMPAGNE. I just remember bottles of champagne everywhere and people complaining about there being only berries and cake to eat. I passed out for 24 hours! So we didn't have a wedding night. My ex didn't let me forget it for 20 years. Which is stupid as we had already been living together for three years! (later I read that Ozzie Osbourne blacked out on his wedding night so I figured I was in rock star company) We actually did it backwards and had our honeymoon FIRST. We went to the Caribbean too...months before the wedding...and called it our unhoneymoon and we had a blast. I think that's how it should be done. Honeymoon...then wedding. __________________ Last edited by DechanDawa; May 07, 2019 at 02:03 AM.. |

Oh my gosh... that's too funny!!! Yes, rock star company indeed! We actually are eloping and today is our ceremony. We're not married yet. We got here three days before due to legalities... then after today, we have four days of a real "honeymoon". It's amazing here. Absolutely stunning. We're in St Lucia. We've been given the royal treatment, and I am lapping it up. Today is a bit overcast. We have our ceremony outside at a gorgeous gazebo overlooking the ocean. Right now I am waiting for breakfast to be delivered, then it's time to get ready! I cannot believe this day is finally here. We've been planning for months, and now it's actually happening! ALL that drama beforehand? Ahhh.... totally forgotten about and went away with the ocean tides..... As soon as we were on that plane, it was forgotten about. Now it's just the two of us,enjoying our time off, which has been much needed for both of us!!!! |

Oh, that is too, too funny. We booked our unhoneymoon in St. Lucia at this fantastic resort. Then some big storm (hurricane?) came along and at the last minute we had to cancel St. Lucia. We were really bummed as it was supposed to be "the place" of our dreams. We went to Jamaica instead. Actually I loved Jamaica (rather fiercely) so it all turned out well. We stayed at a little tiny hotel right on the beach, and everyone, and I mean everyone was partaking of the ganja.
Well. lovely, hopefully you are off Psych Central and getting ready. I wonder what you are wearing. I wore a white cotton dress with a purple yoke...very hippy...and mostly bare feet because my shoes were killing me and I wore them for five seconds. Really the whole wedding thing made me nervous and I drank too much. Did you write your vows? I wrote ours. I remember the line, "All you need is love." That was wrong. You need much more. You need respect, care, concern, intelligence, wit, patience, wisdom, generosity. Knowing how to cook helps, too! You can learn all that stuff. Carry that as your bouquet as you step into the future. All those things. Don't be afraid. It's an adventure. No matter how it turns out...enjoy, my darling girl, enjoy! Blessings! __________________ |

Now we’re recovering from our hangovers, lol. Lots of champagne, wine and alcohol. Far too much, but we celebrated well! |

Congratulations!! I am very glad you were able to get past others' negativity and have a lovely wedding. It sounds like you and your husband have to create some distance with those people going forward.
