I just finished a yoga class.I was out of my comfort zone and I found a lot of the positions difficult and some of them I couldn't do.I felt paranoid and thought what must the others think of me cos they weren't struggling like I was.The teacher was really supportive but at times I thought she's making fun of me!But that was my self consciousness and fear talking.I am scared of making a fool of myself but I want to stick with it and keep going cos I think I will get better at yoga and it is good for me to stick at something instead of running away because my emotions are threatened. Also my body feels so good after, light and relaxed.

I'd appreciate some words of encouragement from anyone cos I really want to stay the course.Another reason I want this the yoga is held at the Quaker Centre and I want to join the Quakers and join them in their spiritual practice.I think they are my kind of people.I haven't been able to go so far cos taxi money is a problem but I hope to overcome that somehow.Either by trying the bus for that one journey or by cutting back on something else.I want to stick at this.I am tired of being a coward and running away from situations I find difficult.

Way to overcome your fear!! You should be very proud of yourself for deciding to stick with it.

Way to go!!!! Yoga is tough the first few times to months. It depends on how your body reacts. But go easy on yourself. I wish I had your courage. I sure need to face my fears.

You are not a coward because you find yourself running away from uncomfortable situations. I think you are just worried what others think of you and that's okay. If you love yoga but are nervous in front of people, try doing different poses at your house to practice! You can do this and I am here for you!

Many people are self-conscious. There may be someone else in your class who felt embarrassed.

You have nothing to be ashamed of for trying. In fact, you should be proud of yourself. We sure are all proud of you!
